| Comments | This is an interesting tune and sound, coming from an equally interesting label. This has some great noises in the background, very Jean Michel Jarre. Fortunately this extends into the rest of the tune, a very upbeat melodic tune. The main melody is nice and long, with lots of different sounds; culminating in a nice piano break. I would place this as a summer tune, but it has come out too early so could probably do with a re-release later. As it stands, a nice tune on a nice upcoming label. | |

| Comments | With such a title, this does have a very hard and heavy beat right from the off. This is a complicated tune, very hard going and overly so in my opinion. You get a softer break in the middle and you will think that the tune is going to tone down, it doesn’t. The melody is quite samey and doesn’t offer any real uplift in the tune. Another tune that I liked first time and then failed to see what it was next time. For the hard heads, this will be perfect; but for me it’s just a bit OTT. | |

| Comments | Don’t overlook this tune as you will be annoyed if you do. I will say now, this isn’t a classic in any way; but if you do like the almighty classic ‘Gamemaster’ by Lost Tribe (or at least the vocal bit); then you will like this. Slow start, in fact it’s just a beat with very little else. However, at 2 mins you get a vocal that just kicks ass in a way that I like. These are augmented by a nice Ibiza style beach sound and it works so well, before it all comes to an end. You then get a tune that tries hard to be more than it is and it doesn’t really do it. It’s a good tune nothing more, which is a shame as this has real potential. Perhaps I am reminiscing about the ‘all time classic’; which isn’t a bad thing; but please someone remix this and make it perfect. | |

| Comments | This is a very nice mellow tune, but with a nice dance edge. From the very beginning you get a good beat and a great piano break. This really does set the scene for what is coming, a nice easy going sound that will help sooth you after a long day. The downside to this track is that what you hear early on is what you hear for the rest of the track. If only the main melody offered something different in terms of a slightly different synth or a up-tempo beat this would have been very good. As it stands, still a good tune and worth a listen. | |

| Comments | This has an interesting sound, very trance in what you get. Has the obligatory break, but it keeps the feeling via a beat less synth. This is soon put right with a real epic sound that builds up to the main melody; it’s really intense. Then ‘wham’; lots of sound in your face and going some. Very subtle piano in the background which you should listen out for as it’s nice; in fact the whole melody is nice. However, it just isn’t long enough. Lots of build-up for a short melody which is criminal bearing in mind how good this could have been. Now it’s a good tune, let’s hope there is a remix that puts it all right. | |

| Comments | I do like the way this artist uses operatic vocals, I find it very effective; but sometimes frustrating because the underlying tune is weak. This doesn’t fall into that category. Great beat and the synth work is really good, lots of emotion and atmosphere. The break really does go to town on how to build up to the main anthem, very effectively. The main anthem is full of passion and really does let rip with some great synths, varying them quite considerably. This is a good tune at every level, but there could have been more of the vocals that I like. As it is solid sound with some great synth work and a funky beat. | |

| Comments | Apparently, this was originally played at ‘Masquerade’ some 3-4 years ago and has only just been released. To be honest, if it had been that good it would have been released then and not now. Not a huge fan (anymore) of Ferry, far too commercial in my opinion; although I respect hugely what he has done for dance music. This is painfully slow to get going, but you do get an early feel as to where it’s heading. Very big synths, lots of noise and very epic in every sense. When it does get going, it sounds very cheesy and has no real depth. Yes, it sounds like it was played at a festival and perhaps should have stayed there; this is dated. Some people are going to like this, but in my books this is a very average tune. | |

| Comments | This is very nicely different to the norm, a fusion of rock and dance and it works really well. The rock is a guitar and the dance is everything else, so be prepared for something out of the ordinary. It doesn’t happen often, but this just works. The guitar break in the main melody is quite amazing and takes this tune right up there in terms of delivering a sound that will inspire you. Solid beat throughout, this is almost perfect. So why isn’t it? There's lots of emphasis on the rock part, it needs more of the trance element. Some nice uplifting synths in places would have been perfect; in fact I would have probably soiled my pants. This is oh so close to perfection, a monster tune. | |

| Comments | OK, this has vocals; but oddly enough it sounded better with than without. Good solid beat throughout and a synth in the background that is also throughout. It’s during the build-up that the vocals come to life, they actually add a nice sense of urgency and when they reappear later, same again. So what’s the tune like? It’s a good sound, very club with a banging beat; one that will get your attention. That’s where it ends, very much like what a lot of other good tunes are doing; nothing particularly special; apart from the good vocals. Worth a listen to make up your own mind. | |

| Comments | I had to listen to both mixes of this quite a few times to pick my fave, always a good sign. This has a great start, I love the guitar sound on the firm beat; sounds special and with purpose. The break supplements this with a more high pitch guitar and then adds some serious bass and then smacks you in the face with a wonderful sound. The melody just epitomises the club trance sound; so play this loud and you will get where I am coming from. Lots of passion and atmosphere, with a melody that changes pitch mid-way further adding to your listening pleasure. This isn’t perfect as there could have been more of the good stuff and it feels like an abrupt end, otherwise go get. | |

| Comments | This is quite a frustrating tune as it has oodles of potential and is slow to deliver. Very slow start and you do need to persevere as you may be tempted to move. Once the tune gets going it’s quite a nice little number, although it is also a bit stop and start. Just when you think you have got there, it stops for another mini build-up which really does not help things. That said, it comes back to life a slightly different tune with some extra synths and minor changes to how it sounds. All in all, a good tune; but frustrating in how it has been compiled. | |

| Comments | This is an interesting EP made by quite a few guys. All the tracks are actually pretty good, with this being my pick. There is a very nice throughout this, with a nice ‘plop’ sound now and then. At the beginning you get an early treat to what is coming and then the main melody reaffirms intent. The melody is in 2 parts with the second half adding a nice piano to move things along. This is a good tune, but it is nothing you haven’t heard before and in places it does quite overly noisy. Worth checking out nonetheless. | |

| Comments | This is OK and listening to this again I am struggling to hear what I first heard. The bit that does catch my ear is the synth work in the main melody, really nice. IN fact the melody moves really well and is let down by the rest of the tune. The vocals are really drab and slow to get the tune moving, which is a shame as it does deserve more. The melody really does rock, but even here the vocals come in and kill it stone(face) dead. This is one of them tunes that should have been more and isn’t, a real shame. | |

| Comments | This is quite a long tune, so you need to be mindful of that. Thing is, quite early on you do get a nice bit of synth work; quite upbeat and classic in sound; but nice. The beat is quite frantic at 140BPM, but it’s in keeping with the track. The melody is a nice fresh sound, very uplifting with a sound of a few years back. The nice thing is that it does repeat itself, but uplifts the tempo and therefore gives the tune more meaning. This is a good tune, some will think it’s very good; but although I like what I hear; it’s nothing particularly new. At over 10 mins it’s an epic as well! | |

| Comments | This is a tune that deceives from the beginning. It has a very hard beat, but nothing is really laid on top and it’s here that you need to be patient. After a while there is a very light synth that hints at something nice coming which is then enhanced with a great build-up to the main melody. The melody really lets rip and changes a few times in tempo and sound, with the last bit adding a flute sound which is a real nice touch. This has a lot of feeling and passion, just a deceptive start. A nice tune and one that has really grown on me. | |

| Comments | Always nice to receive a promo from music labels and this was a very welcome advance listen. You do have to bear with this, it starts very strongly and early on you get a distinct feel for what is going to happen. This does taper off and there is a long explosion of synths that desperately try to build up the tune. It does work, although if it had gone on longer it would have become frustrating. The main melody takes all this and then throws a nice synth to up the tempo and give the sound some new and extra meaning. In places it does sound a tad screechy, but this can be overlooked as it is the essence of what the artist is trying to do. The other mixes aren’t too bad, although this was my fave. | |

| Comments | When I heard this, I was convinced I had heard a previous version Took me quite a bit of digging to realise this was originally released in 2001 under the artist name PPK. This was a tune I liked back then and this manages to retain all the ‘magic’ I enjoyed then. I love the simple synth that delivers the very Russian sound, still works today. Quite a chilled sound, but also one that delivers a great club sound and vibe. The synth is throughout and there are some nice twists to what you hear which keep the tune fresh and funky. Really pleased I listened through to the end of the album that this is on (Perfecto Records – Best of 2011) as it’s a real hidden gem. | |

| Comments | All 3 mixes of this are good, so as an all-rounder it is worth a listen. Starts well, a solid sound with a good underlying beat. The obligatory break is actually quite nice. A piano is introduced and there is a very good attempt at building a very atmospheric feel. The main bit sounds good, a nice simple trance feel with a nice simple trance synth. It’s nice and long as well, plus you get the piano back late on to mix things up a bit more. This isn’t going to set the world on fire, but as a nice tune goes; this is it. | |

| Comments | ‘The Russians are back’ is what the literature said that cane with this promo, didn’t know they had been away! Anyway, this is from the Hallelujah EP and is the stronger of the 2 tracks (in my opinion). This starts really well, but slows down quite quickly which is an odd thing to do. However, you do then get the most wonderful piano break, been a while since I’ve heard a piano used so well. This is then murdered with a really heavy hard synth, which although is in keeping with the first track, is just overt the top. The main melody has a good funky feel to it with a super drum line that really does get the toes going, but the heavy synth is just too much. Very Russian I suppose, but a bit more of the west needed and this would be a better tune. | |

| Comments | This is one of them tunes that sucks you in from very early on, has a very fresh and upbeat feel and it leaves you pondering for nice things to come. This is soon delivered with a very direct synth that announces that good things are going to happen. The build-up is very classic and one that works very well, the anticipation building nicely. Just like when having sex, this peaks at the right time and throws a wonderful array of sound at you. Lots of purpose, deep beats and epic synths; a great club sound. It will also trick you into thinking it’s going to fade out, don’t worry it doesn’t. Beautiful. | |

| Comments | This sounded a lot better when I first heard it. Still a good tune, but very run of the mill in terms of what is being delivered. The artist has had some sound and quality releases in the past, this does fall a bit short. The anthem is solid and to the point and the repeated vocals work nicely, but it is still very samey throughout and doesn’t offer anything different. Once you have heard the first minute or so, you’ve heard it. Disappointing as on first listen this had a nice sound, bit on closer inspection. | |

| Comments | Two artists I know from old and certainly wouldn’t have put together. ‘Infected Mushroom’ are very much from the psy trance era, so an unusual mix at that. That said this is a pretty good tune. Vocals don’t really do it for me, but once they are out of the way you have a really sound trance tune. The synth is a simple, but effective; re-occurring sound on top of a nice pacy beat. The melody also gets enhanced by an eerier background synth which adds very nicely to the whole ambience of the tune. A very pleasant surprise. | |

| Comments | I don’t mind artists re-releasing old tunes, but why do it over multiple records; bit greedy. If you like Mr Tyas, then you will like this. It is very much him at his best; with that solid and thumping sound that he normally delivers. Once the main anthem gets going, you are well prepared for what you hear. It’s a nice smooth experience, with noise in all the right places; works really well and builds up a good atmosphere. Although the whole tune it well produced, the main melody should have been longer and it deserved it; so a tad disappointing. | |

| Comments | The vocal versions aren’t bad; but the dub is much stronger. This is a very powerful euphoric tune that slams your ears with lots of synths and emotion, before laying down a nice beat. This does verge on the cheesy side of trance, but it is a very powerful tune and this just tips the difference. The build-up works really well for me, lots of passion and it does create a nice element of intensity. When you get the beat, you are so ready for it that anything will do. Fortunately what you get has a nice feel and flows very well with the main vibe and essence. A nice tune. | |

| Comments | This is a really frustrating record. There are 4 versions of this tune and all are OK, but none really smash it home as they should. There is a lot of potential with this tune and it has been sorely missed. The beat is good and the actual main vibe and feel works well, but not together. Kandi attempts to bring it together with a subtle piano break, but it then ends or starts to fade out. Disappointing from something that shouldn’t have been. | |

| Artist | Blue Tente feat. Stine Grove | |
| Comments | Some remixes of a tune that was released in 2009, always curious why people do this. Perhaps they hear the tune and think ‘you know, I should have done that differently’. Anyway, there are vocals here and I actually like them. The whole ambience of the tune is quite techy; but there are some nice synths thrown in which work well with the vocals. There is also a very atmospheric break in the middle of this tune, which is quite out of context from the rest of the tune; but its here that things change nicely for the better. The beat changes and the feel becomes much more solid and club like. There’s a nice piano thrown in for good measure and then the vocals, it’s almost a different tune; which is something you don’t hear very often. This is a good tune, very different; but also unorganised in its approach. | |

| Comments | An unusual, but slightly addictive sound. This is loud in that the noise that is produced is unusual and high pitched and it’s fairly constant throughout. With this in mind, not going to be everyone’s thing. You need to get half way through this, although the whole sound is the same it is complimented with a different and funky beat. This beat is really good and if I’m honest it is wasted on the noise that it is supported. I went for this based on previous effort of the artist, namely ‘Afterlight’; this doesn’t live up to that. Bit heavy on the brain, but the nice funky beat does make this more easy listening. | |

| Comments | I like the twangy sound of this, also got a bit of an urban feel to it; rough and ready. When it stops in the middle the sound is very familiar and one I can’t quite place, a tad annoying. Massively long build up to the main course, but it is very well produced in terms of not leaving you hanging too much. When you get there, it’s almost worth the wait. A hard and powerful trance sound that really gets into your brain and wiggles it around. The melody has got some nice longevity to things as well, although it does remain fairly static throughout. The build-up is the real crux, if the melody would have changed mid flow it would have helped, but it don’t. Still a nice tune. | |

| Comments | Taken from the Nature EP, this is a nice tune; all be it a bit samey. Typical trance beat, with some atmospheric synths early on to set the mood. The main anthem kicks in mid-way and what you get is a pleasant sound on the ears. It’s not a banging club number, but it would be something to get the crowd going. It’s consistent in that it doesn’t divert from what you hear early on, but that consistency is nice and long and you are treated to an extra piano break later on. This is an OK tune, one that has grown me. | |

| Comments | This artist is consistently churning out some nice stuff, with this being no exception. Has quite a long delayed start, very much setting the mood; but perhaps overdoing is a bit. It is well over half way before this gets going, which is frustrating as once it is off and running it has a nice deep and rich sound. I like the synth that pops in and out, nice pitch and a very distinct and powerful sound. Good beat and good undertone to compliment, just too long to get going. That said, nice to slow mix with other tunes, so there is always an upside. | |
