Original Mix 3/5 : Good
|

| Artist | Hydro Aquatic | |
| Comments | Fresh and funky feel to this. Nothing that you haven’t heard before, but sometimes it’s nice to hear it again. Good start, but it does take a while, for the tune to really start. Once you are there, it’s solid enough with a good sound. Doesn’t do much more than that just keeps spitting out the same vibe, which is a slight disappointment. If you want something that will mix well and doesn’t throw in any huge surprises, then this is it. A nice tune and worth your ear time. | |

| Comments | This is a quality tune, but too short. Good beat, good feeling and an awesome anthem thrown in for good measure. It’s quite subtle to be honest, but it works. Great atmosphere being built up in the background which comes to a fantastic crescendo of sound. It’s just so annoying it’s so short. Don’t be down, the anthem is a nice long one and changes throughout to give you that extra bit that you want. This is a cracking tune, so go and buy it now. | |

Osip Mix 2/5 : Not Bad

| Comments | Got an old school feel to this, can’t quite explain why; just sounds that way. Nice solid beat from the off, with a nice rumbling tone in the background. Pauses quite early on and a piano break is introduced which was quite unexpected. The tune then starts to build up again, all this is quite a slow process. A different synth is added, but just when you think the tune is going to really explode it just doesn’t. This is a real shame as there is oodles of potential here, just not been fully realised. | |

Dan Stone Remix 2/5 : Not Bad |
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Lexwood feat. Ferrin & Low | |
| Comments | First time I heard this I really liked it, but I’ve calmed down quite a bit. Not sure if I got it confused with another tune. It’s an OK tune, just a tad on the bland side in places. It does have a great drum break early on that really gives it a fast and furious feel, but doesn’t last for long. The main anthem is OK, nothing special. It makes a noise, but not one that really makes me listen; if you know what I mean. It’s a well produced tune, just needs a push in the right direction via a remix. | |

Dub Mix 3/5 : Good
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Mark Pledger vs. Matt Hardwick feat. Melinda Gareh | |
| Comments | This is quite different for the artist, almost a mellow tune; but with a funky beat. This is quite a free flowing tune, nice beat and a nice feeling to go with it. A fairly average tune, but it just that something to keep you listening. I like the mellow feel, but with the harder edge in the background. The anthems are easy to listen to, nothing too noisy or complicated; just a smooth sound. Not really a lot I can say to be honest; it’s just a good tune that you should have a listen to. | |

Original Mix 3/5 : Good

| Comments | I almost missed this one, glad I didn’t. Starts quite slowly, the beat is sound enough and there is some nice noise to keep you listening. It has the usual pause and then a cheesy sounding synth is brought into play, which sets the tone there and then. This is a summer tune. Very mellow, yet pacey; works well. This is a great driving tune if anything, nice and cheerful and not heavy on the senses. It doesn’t have an anthem as such, the tune progressively builds up more and more; leading to a kind of crescendo. Nothing brilliant, but certainly not crap and if you are looking for that summer tune; then look no further. | |

| Comments | Had to listen to this a few times to really get into it. Why ? it’s a very mellow tune, quite slow paced so I needed to be in the right mood. Once you get past all that, a nice little number awaits you. You get a taste early on of what is going to happen and the build up is really well put together. The anthem just delivers a really atmospheric sound, one that really does get them hairs standing up on the back of your neck. There’s a twangy guitar throughout, which gives this a nice summer feeling. I like this tune; it is just in time for summer. | |

Adam Nickey Remix 4/5

| Comments | A beautifully worked track this and I don’t use that word often. This has such a great happy feel to it, really is becoming my sort of sound. The anthem is great and flows well. Doesn’t change too much, but just delivers a constant nice feeling. The real killer is that it simply isn’t long enough. It sounds so good, you want me and there isn’t any; which is a huge shame. This would have been a monster; it just has to remain a great one. | |

Terry Bones Dub 3/5 : Good |
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Lustral | |
| Comments | I am a huge fan of Lustral and it’s been a while since I’ve seen new material from them, so was pleased to get my hands on this. So, is it any good ? Yes, it isn’t half bad. A really deep tune this, but with a nice and smooth undertone. Doesn’t go mad with sound, just delivers a smooth groove. Not epic trance, more of a funky chillout tune. The second anthem is much more uplifting as there’s more noise that comes together in a neat little crescendo. It’s not overpowering, just sufficient. A nice tune. | |

Nitrous Oxide Remix 3/5 : Good
|

| Artist | Marnix | |
| Comments | I love the feel of this tune. It has a real old feel to it, very Cafe del Mar (for you older ones out there). A good beat with a really nice feel in the background. This isn’t a peak time sort of tune, but to warm you up and get the taste buds flowing. Very simple, a main synth on a good beat with extras thrown in here and there. You have to listen real careful in the background for a nice extra synth, that sounds great. The main anthem is a good length as well, just long enough so you can really immerse yourself in the sound. It’s not an outstanding tune, but still a solid one. | |

Sean Tyas Mix 2/5 : Not Bad
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Talla 2XLC vs. Sean Tyas | |
| Comments | I got this because of Sean Tyas as I’m not a fan of Talla 2XLC. This has a hard beat, very typical of Tyas. It does make this tune pound along much better than the Original, but it still doesn’t do the business for me. Yes, it’s an OK tune and yes I’m being fussy; but heard it all before. I suppose I expect too much, but this is really average. Fans of 2XLC will love it, if you aren’t a fan have a listen first. | |

Tiesto Remix 2/5 : Not Bad |
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Salt Tank | |
| Comments | A classic tune if there was and one I still feel shouldn’t be messed with. As far as reworks go, this isn’t a bad one. I’m not a huge fan of Tiesto, but he does try to keep the essence of the original and it kind of works. The problem I have is that I think the original of this was brilliant and although a lot people probably haven’t heard it, I have. Classics should be left well alone as they are classics for a reason. This is OK and I am biased, but hey; it’s only my opinion. | |

Robert Nickson Remix 3/5 : Good
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Deep Voices | |
| Comments | You have to keep listening to this as it’s the end of the tune you want, not the beginning. I have to admit I almost turned this off, but being a fan of the remixer I kept at it. The vocals actually work after a while, you just have to get used to a bloke’s voice rather than a female. The main anthem is a really great sound and is one you have to listen to loud as it just delivers. The vocals here work really well and give it that extra something. The rest of the tune is kind of average, but for 60 seconds of pleasure, listen to the anthem on this one. | |

VDMs 2008 Rework 2/5 : Not Bad
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Vincent de Moor | |
| Comments | From old I love this guy, of late not that good and I always feel that people are struggling if they rework old tunes. Fortunately this is probably better than the original, so for once it has worked. It does get a bit heavy in places, but the main anthem is nice and fresh and moves nicely. The sound is also edging on the tech side of things, which I don’t normally like; but it keeps a nice dance element as well. Worth a listen, but not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. | |
