Comments This is the master of the trance in a big way. I first heard this late one night whilst working in Wakefield and almost cum in my pants. I love the classical track 'Adagio ..' anyway and to get Mr Corsten funking it up was brilliant. This is how to infuse classical music and pure dance music together in an unbelievable way. Brilliant and you get the original on the 12".

Comments Good solid club tune that had 2 quite different mixes on the market from the more downbeat offering of the Silk Mix to this monster 141 BPM killer. Bit slow out of the blocks, but once it lets rip it is pure trance. Very hard and fast, but this sums up the time when that's what people wanted. Never really heard this much in the clubs which was a shame as I loved it.

Comments This to me is 2 different records rolled into 1. The first half is a nice piano track which I really like, followed by a more full on club tune; mach harder and faster. Surprisingly runs at 139 BPM which at the beginning seems rather fast, but because this is so different is why I like it. Piano music is great and perhaps continuing that into the harder section would have been good, but well worth it nonetheless.

3/5 : Good
Artist Jarmel
Comments This is different to the usual stuff that comes out. A simple 135 BPM beat, but with some nice trancey harmonica'esque noises over the top. Bit samey, but it delivers what you want. My gripe wold be that when it stops in the middle it looses the pace quite a bit until it gets going again. Could do with a good remix.
Label Redshift : Released December 1999

Artist Skip Raiders ft Jada
Comments This was a monster tune that really put Perfecto back on the map. This was the time that dance music was breaking into the commercial world and when this came out, wham. Brilliant infusion of dance and classical music with 'Adagio for Strings' sampled throughout. Everything about this is what dance music is all about, a great beat, great vocals and brilliant classical bit.

Comments The first time I heard this I went made. Never heard of the artist or the label, but this was brilliant. 139 BPM really pumped this track along and the main chorus was so uplifting it was untrue. I love the way it stops and starts with all the different breakbeats holding it together and the main theme was so catchy that I hummed it for weeks. On top of all that, it was 11 minutes long and lasted for every second.

Comments I originally got this on a white label with artist unknown and threw a wobbly when I heard. This was the sort of music I wanted to hear as it just about summed up the whole trance scene. Transa were clearly at their peak and this was, in my opinion, their best. It was hard, fast and in your face. This was a 2am stormer that would have you leaping around sweating like a pig. Pure genius.

Title Namistai Original Mix

Artist BT & Paul Van Dyk
Comments At this moment in time, BT and PvD were by far the biggest heavyweights on the dance scene. When I first saw this colaboration I got somehwat excited. The track itself is a bit of a let down, probably because oy my high expectations. Still a great tune which moves nicely and has all the traits you'd expect from 2 great artists. Once this gets going it is pure genius, uplifting trance at it's best.

Comments An anthem to say the least. This has all the aspects of a typically great club tune for this time. Quick build up then some catchy beat less synth work to get you going with the old glow stick. It the went a bit wild with everything lumped together which got the old heart racing, but t then came down a notch and just chilled along nicely with the beat. Off again and that was it, a damn good dance tune

Comments This was around on white label for sometime and I don't know if it ever got released. I don't know why I really like as it is an all together fairly average record. I like how it all builds up by stopping at various phases and talking about it. While all this is going on there are lots of backgrounds which you know are building to a crescendo of something. That eventually comes and is really really nice, accompanied by a somewhat quiet piano. Great tune.
Label Distinct'ive : Released September 1999

3/5 : Good
Artist Kaydee Project
Comments A good 'group' this who seemed to just die of death after a few outings. This was a nice Ibiza type record as it was very heavy on the piano side, which I like. It took all the elements from a classic club tune and combined them all together, quite effectively. Bit samey, but isn't a bad thing; although I think this would annoy me if I over heard it.
Label Iceberg Records : Released September 1999

Title Rock With Me Lange Instrumental Remix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist TR Junior
Comments This isn't a bad tune and fortunately gets a nice funk up by Lange. The whole tune revolves around the noise a kazoo would make, which at first is quite novel; but does get a bit tedious. You can feel the Lange element creep in when the tune starts as the beat gets funky and sounds very Lange. That aside, this is a fairly dull tune that doesn't really pull my plonka. It's moves well and sounds OK, just a bit drab.
Label Amato : Released September 1999

Comments This was a somewhat strange one when I first heard, sort of an uptodate version of something that Kraftwerkk might do. This was (and still is) strangely very addictive. It has a really simple 134 BPM beat with a strange sort of progressive sound to it. I think what gives this its kick is that a few minutes in it lays down a really solid bassline, which you don't expect. This is a really cool cross between house and what can only be described as electronica.

Comments I think this was one of the first tunes I heard on the Bonzai label and knew that I was in for a few treats in the future. This was a nice progressive house / trance tune that I remember went down well in the clubs. Very slow on the up with all the beats, etc taking their time; but it just grabbed you enough as no to loose interest. It then went on a nice run with a reverbing sound that was quite cool, then it stopped and threw down an all new 'piano' synth and you knew what was coming. A sweet culmination of everything, so so sweet.

Comments I remember hearing this on holiday and it rocked. I like piano music at the best of times as this one worked really well. Just to spice it up there was a nice hard bit sandwiched in the middle. Just in the right places there would be that nice woman talking about dreams, which in the club sent you wild. A superb all rounder this.
