Title Beautiful Child Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Madelyne
Comments I can't make my mind up on this one. I don't like the 4 Strings Mix as it's far too vocal. The Original, however, is a rather catchy instrumental. It doesn't do much, but it moves along quite nicely and has a nice happy feel to it. Probably one you'll hear in a commercial club or on the radio.
Label Xtravaganza : Released August 2002

Title Love Washes Over Airwave Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Art of Trance
Comments One of my fave artists and this is a great step forward in their revival. A catchy little dance number that encompasses all the classic AoT traits. Great beat works its way upto a good momentum and then just the right amount of vocals to finish it off. The Original is OK, but the vocals seem to drag out a bit; the Airwave Remix is the best.
Label Platipus : Released August 2002

Title All I Ever Wanted Instrumental Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist The Mystery
Comments Not as good as the first track 'The Mystery', but a worthy follow up. A happy bouncey track which moves well and has a nice club feel to it. The vocal is a bit dreary so head for the instrumental. Bit samey and nothing new, but a good tune on a top label.
Label Xtravaganza : Released August 2002

Title Madagascar Push Remix

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Art of Trance
Comments The definitive compiliation of all the mixes, including the classic Original. I still prefer the Transa Remix as it is slightly different to the others as it has the very distinctive Transa feel. The Push Remix does run a close second as it is a quite different tune. The beginning is very AoT whereas the second half is much more in your face. The rest are great tracks and this is a worthy addition to any collection. The chillout mix is very smooth !
Label Platipus : Released July 2002

Title Do You Hear Me Classified Project Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Indiana
Comments A really cool mellow tune, with Platipus delivering another half decent track. Art of Trance deliver a more ambient track (surprisingly), with a nice beat and more 'haunting' vocals. I prefer the Classified Project as it is a bit more pacey and has a really nice undertone to it. First half is quite mellow and then it picks up to a nice dancey(ish) track. Expect to hear this late on in the night.
Label Platipus : Released July 2002

Title Epic Monolith Sonorous Epic Dub

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Mirco de Govia
Comments Like this one. Nothing special, but both the Original and Sonorous mixes offer a different perspective on the track. The Original is very housey in that it builds up to the usual epic bit, whereas Sonorous is much more bang bang from the beginning; but doesn't quite deliver. Still a good tune nonetheless.
Label Xtravaganza : Released July 2002

Title We Know What You Did Original Mix

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Svenson & Gielen
Comments A fantastic trance track this. A superb fast flowing beat with a lovely synth type rift all over the top which really adds to the emotion of the whole thing. There's also a nice oboe touch which sounds very 'Nightmare' by Brainbug. Even the bits in the middle are well put together. A toptrack from top artists who just get better and better.
Label ID&T : Released June 2002

Title Southern Sun / Ready Steady Go DJ Tiesto Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Oakenfold
Comments Ready Steady Go did sound quite good, but unfortunately as a CD owner I only get an edit. However, the Tiesto mix of Southern Sun is very good. Classic chessey trance to be honest. A good nothing special beat, some beautiful vocals and some nice synths. Perfecto are certainly changing direction, in the right way.
Label Perfecto : Released June 2002

Artist Lange
Comments Beautiful, just beautiful. This is just so different for the master of thumping tunes. I like my tunes chilled and this has extra ice, lovely. Very very slow moving tune, but the synth work is just awesome. This makes my whole body just shiver when I listen to it, it is just so atmospheric it's untrue. I like this on the way to work in the early hours, very refreshing. In fact, it's just a very refreshing tune all round.
Label Lange Recordings : Released June 2002

Title Razorfish Above & Beyond Progressive Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Tranquility Base
Comments Lot of hype I felt around this and sort of justified. Above & Beyond are a quality outfit and this fits well in their catalogue. As the mix suggests, this is a very much progressive trance number which works well. It does suffer from stop / start syndrome which drives me up the wall. It would be nice to get a tune that got down to business and didn't let up. It's a nice happy tune that just about delivers what I like. It's a bit samey and doesn't change too much once it's moving, but it works well for me.
Label Anjunabeats : Released June 2002

Title Frenetic / Illuminate / Chime Live Style Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Orbital
Comments I only bought this for Chime, which is good as the other 2 are crap. Chime is a classic and this has been 'acided' up quite nicely. The pace is also up a few BPM which initially sounds a tad hardcore, but once it settles down all the old memories come flooding back. A classic.
Label London Records : Released May 2002

Title Today / The Essence Today

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist POB
Comments These are only available as 'compiled' on the album or direct from Platipus. POB is one of my fave artists on this label and this ain't a bad tune. Today is by the best as it has all the usual POB ingredients, a moody beat; some strange wailing and the pacey end. The Essence is much deeper and a bit samey, but not bad.
Label Platipus : Released May 2002

Title Reason Lange Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Ian Van Dahl
Comments 'Castles' was a classic and I don't think this is as good, but it doesn't do bad. Both mixes are very similar, bang, vocal, epic, bang .... you get the idea. This will no doubt be a Top 10 in the charts.
Label NuLife : Released May 2002

Title Touch the Sky Trash and Dash Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist 29 Palms
Comments A real happy track this. Moves along really well, has some nice snythesised voacls and a cool piano bit. Trash and Dash is the best mix. A welcome breath of fresh air.
Label Perfecto : Released May 2002

Title We Are All Made Of Stars DJ Tiesto Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Moby
Comments The normal version of this is quite dreary, but these mixes do liven it up. Tiesto gives it more 'uummpphh'. Timo Mass, amazingly, makes it very housey with a great beat. All the vocals are very robotic, which make it really quite good. Not brill, but a breath of fresh air.
Label Mute Records : Released May 2002
