Title Ibiza Commander Tom's Remix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist El Loco
Comments This is a classic from the early 90's and is the the reason why trance started out. A hard 'Ibixa' track that was way ahead of it's time and gets a good rework. The Club Mix is almost faithful to the original which I love. Commander Tom vamps it up into a worthy successor, whereas Nostrum is way out. The vinyl boys get a trance mix, which sounded pretty cool.

Title Try Tillmann Uhrmacher Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Ian Van Dahl
Comments Since 'Castles', Van Dahl really hasn't produced much of any note. I was wary of this, but with remixes by Michael Woods and Tillmann Uhrmacher I thought I'd give it a whirl. What a pleasant surprise. Michael Woods delivers a hard sounding club track whereas Uhrmacher a much more 'mellow' underground affair. A surprising effort and worth a listen.

Title Ionize Misja Helsloot Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Ozone
Comments I loved ?Rock?, so thought I'd get the earlier offering from this artist. Much more melodic and laid back, which isn't a bad thing at all. This works well and has an effective slow build up, very harmonic and relaxing. Once this kicks in, it really does flow well. Lots of synth work overlapping itself, which harmonises really well. It doesn't last for long enough which is a real let down. The whole tune is nice, but the main thrust could have been longer.

Comments This gets straight down to business, no 3 minute build up. Very epic trance with a pulsating beat that bounces around in your head quite nicely. My only complaint is that it takes a while for it to change and really go mental. However, just prior to it going mad there's a lovely beat free bit that really builds upto a nice crescendo and then wham bham thank you maam. Top tune.

Title Let's Get It Right Altitude Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Krystal K
Comments This is such a simple track, that works so so well. It runs at a modest 133 BPM and has a really easy beat with some wonderful vocals accompanied by a really toe tapping chorus. To round it all off there is a lovely bit half way through that has some almost 'sleigh bells' with a mad acid noise that all builds up into a fantastic crescendo of sound. A good tune, at last, from the Incentive label. This is happy happy !!
Label Incentive : Released September 2002

Title Twisted Sushi Remix

Artist Dreamcatcher
Comments Bear with this. The first 30 seconds sound like something you could do yourself with an empty eggcup ! Once it gets going it really does have a powerful edge to it. A nice catchy tune in the background throughout compliments this 137 BPM number. Some well integrated vocals 'introduce' the real tune which is great. This is 150% pure dance music with a great trance edge to it. Out on Positiva and worth a listen.
Label Positiva : Released September 2002

Title Sweet Harmony DuMonde Vocal Mix

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Vincent Stormfield
Comments A hard trance classic this will become. Draws a bit from the timeless Beloved track 'Sweet Harmony', but the DuMonde mix throws all that to one side and delivers a real thud bang track. This is really good and has a great feel good factor to it, especially when it's played really loud. Don't be put off by the title, if you like JamX/DuMonde stuff, then you'll love this
Label White Label : Released September 2002

Title Psycho Drums Art of Trance Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist John Occlusion
Comments Never heard of this artist, which is a shame as I like this. Nothing special, but quite a fresh tune. AoT without doubt put in the best mix which a nice pacey number that has all the usual AoT elements to it. Works up nicely to a crescendo of sound that will have them feet taping. The Original Mix is OK, but a bit bland for my liking. Another good track on Platipus.
Label Platipus : Released September 2002

Title Insane Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Dark Monks
Comments There has been lots of raving about this track, especially the Murano Mix. Well, the Murano Mix is bloody awful. If you like to listen to a bad sample of a woman singing; then you'll like it. The Original Mix is much better, in that it's a rework of 'Go' by Moby. Now, that in itself is a classic track that really shouldn't be tampered with, but this is a good effort. The vocals are OK(ish), but add a different element to it. For the old skool !!
Label Incentive : Released September 2002

Title The Theme Altitude Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Jurgen Vries
Comments Different, very different; in fact quite refreshing. This is very much like George Miroder and 'The Chase' in that it's just different. JamX lays down quite a heavy track which is more suited for the techno heads in a club. The Altitude Mix is much more subtle and is really quite good. The thing that makes this is the great beat and the wacky synth noise i.e. the theme. Great track and well worth adding to the collection.
Label Direction Records : Released September 2002

Title The Journey JFK Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Blue Horizon
Comments Hhhm, very nice. The Pulser Mix is the one I thought I'd like and I do. It's a hard pumping track that lays down the law quite early on and gets on with it. Nice vocals (very Rozalla), but a bit too samey for my pleasure. JFK add a bit more of a trancey feel to it and some lovely eerie noises over the top, much better. Although they both run at 137 BPM, JFK feels much more mellower.
Label White Label : Released September 2002

Title Touched Plastic Angel Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Lange pres. Firewall
Comments Another different outing for Lange and it is somewhat different to what we are used to. Moves along nicely with some seriously strange reverbed drum sounds, which are actually quite good. The main chorus is a while coming and doesn't quite deliver what I have come to expect from Lange. The main noise is a bit too much, especially very loud. Don't get me wrong, this is a good tune; but not his best.
Label Afterglow Records : Released September 2002

Title Tears in the Rain Original Mix

5/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Anjo
Comments Beautiful, just beautiful. 137 BPM tune that has some of the nest synths and piano work I've heard in ages. This is a real atmospheric tune that will have you floating around on the ceiling in no time. This is one of a handful that if I close my eyes I feel like I'm going to cry with happiness, brilliant.
Label White Label : Released August 2002

Title Diving Minimalistix Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist 4 Strings
Comments This is pretty good. The vocals are a bit annoying, but after a while they do grow on you. A fast pacey number from this 'artist' who is appearing more and more with great tracks. This is very epic arms in the air stuff that will ring in your ears for ages.
Label White Label : Released August 2002

Title Starry Eyed Surprise Oliver Lieb Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Oakenfold
Comments If like me you loved 'Southern Sun'; then you may well be disappointed with this one. It's nothing like SS, this is a very dark and moody track. I lie, the Edit is the theme tune to the Capital Radio advert. However, the remixes are nowhere near as happy. Forget Josh Wink he's had his day and the Oliver Lieb track isn't much better. Very strange.
