Title Dawn of Mankind Mozes & Edd Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Informers
Comments This is very much on the harder edge of trance. Big hard beat with an equally hard bassline, very in your face. That said, it does slow down a bit fairly early on into the tune; which is a nice breath of fresh air. The main sound is a hard anthem type experience, nothing overly special; but a good sound on the ears. This works well although it isn't anything you haven't heard before. The artist tries to mix it up and it almost works, just a bit too much on the hard edge.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Ayion
Comments This is an OK tune. Bit samey in that it doesn't really change much. The drums are also quite heavy and do get in the way of things, which is a bit annoying. That aside, this is a happy little number that bounces along quite nicely. The tune is a good one, but the beat does tend to overpower it a bit. The main chorus is good and has a really atmospheric feel to it, shame it doesn't continue. I'm in 2 minds about this as it starts well, but loses the plot as it goes along. It's an OK tune, just a bit jumbled up.

Comments What a treat indeedee with this one. 9 different versions on the same disk, I'm sure I got the wrong one !! This one lays in with mixes by Thrillseekers, Kansai, Neo & Farina and Art of Trance. All have a vocal and dub version, not that it makes too much difference. This is an oldie back from 2000 originally under the BT pseudonym 'Libra'. It was OK then, but this time it's been done properly. I don't like the AoT versions as they are way off the track and far too different. Kansai puts in quite a hard version which is a bit out of character for this, but nice. I am just going to go for the Thrillseekers as it is nice and bouncy and everything I like. Neo & farina is almost as good, but there's quite a gap in the middle before it really kicks off, but it's still a great effort. Another great release from Platipus.

Comments Nice this one. A very simple, but effective tune that you are no doubt going to hear in the clubs. I prefer the Original Mix as it is a bit more lively and a tad on the epic side. The Neo & Farina Mix is much harder and verging more towards techno. Nonetheless, 2 good tunes that will fill either tastes in music.

Comments Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. I love the Platipus label and it's tunes like this that justify it. 4 fantastic mixes, yep; all 4 are great. It is really difficult to choose a fave but Neo & farina just get it. The Original and Fire & Ice Mixes are equally as good, but this just has the edge. If that isn't enough, the chillout version is quite sublime. So smooth and mellow I'm dying to mix it up. Buy this, you will not be disappointed.

Comments Ooooo, a different angle on a weirdo sound. This is a nice bouncy 138 BPM number with a really wild noise in it. Very squeaky and one of them that if you hear it very loud, you'll go mad. It's also one of them that you'll sit around humming unknowingly. I'm split on this from being good and better than good as it is a bit stop start. There are some great drum beats that just kick in now and then which are quite surprising when you first hear it. Have a listen and see what you think, it may wind you up !!

Comments Aaaahhh, starts so well and just stops going. I love the beginning and the way in which the whole tune tunes into something that sounds very similar to 'Ramirez' by Hablando. Nice beat, nice noises; in fact an all round nice record. The vocals work well, but when it needs to let go it only just manages it. Should have been a tad longer so the good stuff flowed for longer. Good, but disappointing from an otherwise great label.

Title The One I Run To Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Miro
Comments Hhhmmmm, smooth this one, real smooth. Not a fan of Miro as I find his stuff a tad repetitive and boring. This is a tad different and well on the chilled side. Runs at a modest 127 BPM and really does run quite nicely. Nice beat, smooth vocals all backed up by a funky undertone. Yeah, this is different to the usual mainstream stuff; but not what you're going to hear at peak time in your local club. Worth hunting down for a listen nonetheless.

Artist Cultivate
Comments This has all the makings of a good tune, but just fails to deliver. You think it's going to explode into a deluge of sound, but it either remains the same or just stops. This is still a good tune and very much what you'd expect of the Lost Language label. I like the bouncy trance sound in the background, which really should have been brought to the fore. There will no doubt be some remixes, but this one is OK.

Title Dirty Little Self Andy Moor Vocal Mix

1/5 : Poor
Artist Kenny Shifter
Comments This is OK in that it has a nice feel and beat to it. Takes a bit of an age to get going, but when it does it is quite catchy. The male vocals are a bit naff and don't really add anything to it, in fact a dub would be much better. A filler perhaps, but nothing more.
Label Baroque Records : Released May 2003

Title High Engines Original Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Marco Bailey
Comments Short, but funky. If you like your beat and that very tribal sound then you will love this. It is very very tribal and quite on the high energy side as it just keeps going. It runs at a modest 136 BPM and is one of them tunes that you will either love or hate. It is a tad repetitive, but as it isn't very long it gets away with it. Good fun.
Label Primate : Released May 2003

Title Day of MIne Starecase Vox Mix

1/5 : Poor
Artist Tok Tok vs. Soffy O
Comments Errrrr, not bad. Well there is about 45 seconds in the middle which isn't bad. The rest is completely pointless. The only reason this gets a mention is because I like and respect Starecase. There maybe a decent mix of this doing the rounds, but this ain't it.
Label Tok Tok Records : Released May 2003

Title Lonliness Club Kut

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Tomcraft
Comments There is a lot of hype surrounding this tune and to be honest I just don't see it. I find it a fairly boring tune and the only thing that really saves it is the brilliant hard bassline. The vocals are naff and this is clearly being aimed at the pop scene, so there it shall remain.
Label Data Records : Released May 2003

Title Of Our Times Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Goldenscan
Comments Has a lot of promise this record, but just when it starts to get going it ends. A pacey one at 139 BPM and very very similar to something you'd expect from BT (remember him ?). A definite dance number that should avoid the charts and one that is worth having a listen to.
Label Lost Language : Released May 2003

Title Release Me Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist That Nucho
Comments I can only describe this as an old school style house come trance track. It bounds along quite happily with the obligatory vocals saying 'release me; and is to that point very good. I particularly like the hard sounding synths that are built upon as the track progresses. The downside is that it doesn't do much else, a bit of epic piano wouldn't have gone a miss. A good one though.
