Comments Yeah, like this. Nothing really special, but in the middle it does what I adore, it changes the drumbeat to a real funky number and then slaps you in the face with the chorus. Another nice anthem number that goes well. Bounces along with the obligatory vocal in places and doesn't really let you go. Also has a nice reverb sound from the 90's that works well. My grumble, not long enough.

Comments There's some fella saying 'ear' all the way through this, don't get it. Apart from that this is a nice little number. Works on all the usual club type stuff, in that the beat moves well and there are some nice synths and noises to accompany. Like a lot of stuff at present, is a bit samey, but this is broken up by different intros, etc. There's also a nice sampling of what can only be described as an accordion, which I like.

Artist Deep Groove
Comments Not what I usually go for this, but I like the beat. This is a somewhat tribal progressive house tune, that throws in some really weird and wonderful noises. On top of all that, you've got some bird moaning as if she's having a good time and it all adds up and works quite well. Not one that I would expect to here in the more upfront clubs, but the backstreet stuff absolutely.

Comments A methodical house number this one. Lots of high hat on a steady beat with a somewhat unoriginal moog sounding noise in places. It reminds me of early house tunes that came out on 'Junior Boys Own'. Not very inspiring, but someone out there will like it.

Comments A nice mellow number, that you may well here in the early hours. Has a really nice tune to it throughout, which is accompanied by some nice vocals. This is well on the chillout par, but runs at a surprising 126 BPM. If you like it chilled, then check this out.

Artist Digital Tension
Comments This edges on the cheesy music side. Why ? It has a nice beat, but the main chorus is so so aimed at the club and possible charts. It's very simple and quite anthemesque, in a strange sort of way. It's got a nice build up and once into the main tune, it does change around a bit which is nice. There's also a nice interlude in between bits, which is quite nice. It's more like a continuous beat to keep you interested. This is good and worth a listen

Comments Bit distorted this. By that I mean that the background noises don't really complement the tune, in fact that over complicate it. I don't mind noise, but there is a lot of noise going on in this one. Has that spacey feel to it, which I like. The beat is solid and the idea is good, but there are noises in places where they shouldn't be. The main theme is nice and bouncy and moves along well, but for a 9 min tune there is only one bite at the cherry. This in itself is really disappointing as this would have made the tune better. That said, this is an OK tune; a noiseless dub would be great though.

3/5 : Good
Artist Rusch & Murray
Comments Nice and subtle this tune, not as epic as the title may suggest. The main chorus is really nice, flows smoothly and doesn't overload the brain with too many noises and stuff. Good solid beat with some nice synth work in the quiet bits, just to keep the whole thing moving along. 2 choruses both move very well and do lift this tune up to a nice level. This is better than your average club stuff, but still nothing out of the ordinary. Worth a listen though.

Artist Fractal Vive
Comments This is a very progressive trance tune, that won't be everyone's cup of tea. Very in your face repetitive beat and chorus, that if you are not quite with it may send you right off on one. Saying that, it is rather catchy and does move along at a very pacey 140 BPM. I suppose you could say it borders on hard techno / trance. Worth a listen if you like your music hard.

Artist Svenson & Gielen ft Jan Johnston
Comments This lot are teaming up a bit of late and JJ is appearing on more and more stuff, which isn't bad at all. This is a very club type trance tune, in that it's quite epic and the vocals are very chessey. Pounding beat adds to a well put together tune, but it's just a bit too in the face for my liking. It's good, but all the 'trumpets' blaring out just make it a bit much. A toned down version would be very nice.

Comments Nice pacey number this with a nice female voice saying stuff in places. Very similar to some old classics in 'mind, body and soul' dept, but this works. It's a modest 135 BPM progressive house tune, with the odd Star Trek transporter noise for good measure. I do like the very stop / start bit in the middle, but it does sound like the end ! Needs a bit of funking up, some nice synth work would be great. A pretty good tune nonetheless.

Title Missing Gleave & Johnston Remix

Artist Discovery
Comments This is the second tune I've got from the Nebula label that is a re-work of an oldie. 'Missing' was originally a monster hit in the mid 90's for EBTG and this is just a funked up version. The beat and bassline are really good, nice, solid and purposeful. As far as the rework goes it works OK. The vocals are slightly faded to emphasise the beat and there are some nice synths that crop up now and then just to add that bit more. Not a classic, but a nice one to have on.

Artist DJ Tatana
Comments A very impressive tune from 'She' DJ Tatana. The beginning is beautiful, very atmospheric and near classical and then a hard beat just rumbles it and you're off at a nice and bouncy 135 BPM. My gripe would be that it stops too frequently and gets all lovey with the violin, trying to be a bit 'Adagio for Strings'. Saying that, once that is all out the way there is a solid club trance tune. Very DJ Stigma in that it's slow to start, has a big build up and then wham. Great great tune with a really nice anthem feel and sound to it. Take the beginning away and this would be a stunner.

Artist Eruption
Comments If you like your club trance on the hard side, then you will love this one. 139 BPM of pure in your face bass and a really mad BrainBug'esque undertone to it. Play this loud and you will feel a serious amount of bass ! This isn't my cup of tea as it is a bit mad, but it's quite catchy. As I say, loud is how to play this.
Label Nukleuz : Released July 2003

Title Tranceptor Original Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Ingo vs. Daz
Comments More hardcore thumping trance and at 144 BPM I'm amazed I even entertain this one. Not a brilliant one this as it's just a fast beat with some strange noises all over the top. It's the chorus that's the catchy bit, especially as it's got the Sean Connery bit from Highlander. Very hard this with a very very anthem feel to it, almost verging on that acid sound. This is hard trance how it should be, shame the chorus is a bit short as dancing to it will result in a loss of about a stone in weight !
