Comments OK, so what's this got to do with turtles ? Bang, bang, bang and lots of trumpets. This is a well fast little number that just drags you along behind it, which is a good thing ! The main anthem is very catchy and the progressive build up with all the other noises works a real treat. There is a nice in-between bit that keeps you going while the tune gets ready for another go at your senses. A top tune and worthy of any decent collection.

Comments This is yet another defining tune in music history. This was just so different as it had that different feel to it in the really mellow fading 'noise'. Lay down a good beat underneath and it just enveloped your senses. Mr Corsten does a whole world of good and remixes the tune uptodate really well. Sounds just like the original, but just a bit more funky. The CD has 8 different mixes, so you just can't go wrong

Comments There are defining tunes in music and this deserves it's place in music history. When this first hit the shelves in the late 90's it was so fresh and different that it was quite unbelievable. This had everything and more that you wanted to hear in a tune and when it was played out you went completely mad. I didn't think you could top this and a remix could be dangerous, but Ronski does a superb job. A much fresher and uptodate beat brings this nicely to the decks again and it doesn't loose any of the original. You also get 1999 on the disk which has the great Gouryella Remix.

Comments No. 6 in the Positiva Remix family and the one that I played first out of sheer anticipation. This was a fantastic tune that harmonised some real smooth vocals with a wickedly hard beat and then some. Wham bam thank you mamn. A great piano ensemble with all the great trance feeling to it, this was the whole night out. The remix here is done by Lange himself, which is a good thing. Saying that if you didn't know different you'd think it was by The Mystery. A great gothic type build up which has you wanting that bit more, progressive trance perhaps ? A great alternate drumbeat accompanies the main chorus and this does really and truly sound better, so so nice. Oh yeah, the CD even has 'Follow Me' on it, but that was for Kevin and Perry ....

Comments No. 10 in the Positiva Remix family and one which really shouldn't have been tampered with as it didn't really work. Hemstock & Jennings were given the honors of trying to better this one and it just doesn't get there. For those who've never heard the originals then it would be really good, nice and fresh and more importantly different. I was brought up on the Des Mitchell Remix and this still kicks some ass. This is a really cool bouncy tune, which almost stands upto the tests of time as it's a bit limp in places. Love the 'Merry Xmas' bit which when I first heard I cum in my pants, brilliant. On top of that there are 3 other mixes with the Astro Remix and Infinity Mix worthy of mention.

Comments Originally out back in 99, this was an absolute stormer. This went straight to the beat and slapped it round your face until you felt sick ! This was one of them that when that anthem build up started you knew you were in for a real treat. This is No. 9 in the Positiva Remix family and it is one of the better ones. It's difficult to improve on a classic, but this does go some way towards that. Van Gelderen tries too hard and it all gets lost in the translation. Kenny Hayes however mellows the tune out, but adds a nice bit of funk on the way. Brings the tune nicely forward 5 years to what sounds as equally as good. Well worth hunting down, even if it's only for the original mix.

Comments Never heard of this mob before, but for a first outing this isn't at all bad. You have to ignore the beginning which is a bit wishy washy and then an extract which sounds like something from a rain forest, but that isn't bad. Remember 'Deep Forest', they were bloody brilliant. It really kicks in after all this and to be honest I just don't see why they bothered with the start as it has nothing to do with the main track. This is a really nice dance number that moves along at a nice 137 BPM. It does lack real direction as it does top and change a bit which breaks it up. However, as an all rounder this is pretty good and worth checking out.

Comments Haven't heard from Signum in a while, which is a shame as their tunes are generally pretty good. So it is always nice and refreshing to hear this sort of music as this really rocks. Starts with a really manic noise that just has you on the edge waiting for what is to come. The break works for a change and adds some real feeling to the whole thing and then it lays a really hard 138 BPM bassline on you. On top of all that the synths work really well and this just rolls around in the mind so so nicely. This is 2 in the morning with your head back screaming, if you know where I'm coming from.

Comments The original of this occupies the Classics section as one of my all time faves. I got excited when I saw that Liquid Asset were releasing 4 new mixes, but this doesn't really live upto the original. Far too hard, which looses the whole feeling of the track. I remember hearing them to die for words about being a gamemaster and then the track loosing you in sound. This tries to hard and 'bang bang' just doesn't cut it. The main chorus is still there, but it just ain't the original. Haven't heard the other mixes, hopefully they'll do this some justice. Don't get me wrong, this is still a good tune; but I've heard the original !

Comments Hhhmmm, a 2 for 1 deal aie. I like this, but it would be nice to get a few mixes of each track rather than just the one. Still, this isn't too bad nonetheless. 'Pole Position' as you may expect has the odd F1 noises in the background, but they don't sound at all cheesy. This is a happy happy track that really just does what you'd expect from a decent dance tune; nothing special. 'Seven' is a much more bouncy number and the one I prefer. More of a dance tune and rather uplifting in places. The break in the middle is very atmospheric and I like that a lot, especially the synth build up to the main track. Marking for 'Seven' with 'Pole Position' a nice AA.

Comments Nice, very very nice. This moves along with real purpose and has a really awesome undertone to it that gives it a real feeling of importance; as daft as that probably sounds. Two quite different mixes on this, certainly aiming for all tastes. A hybrid of the 2 would be great as I prefer the Original Mixes rhythm, but Neo & farina just add that little extra pace to proceedings and do add a rather funky sounding 'Casualty Theme' bit. The downside to both is that there is a long pause between the start and middle which is quite annoying, in fact it is really annoying. Some of the vocals get on my tits as they're a bit too often, but that doesn't detract from a good number.

Comments This is what it's all about, people making their own tunes and trying to break through. So, Point of Origin (aka Rik + Rod) sent me their latest offering for my 'honest' opinion. This is a 142 BPM fairly hard trance number, that really kicks. Thought has clearly gone into this as it doesn't contain so many pitfalls that you find by the major artists. Good solid beat and the usual mellow bit before the onslaught. The main chorus has a really catchy repetitive synth noise and some angelic like alternative synths in the background. What this does best of all is that once it gets going, it stays going and doesn't do a stop / start. For 2 guys 'in their bedroom' this is quality stuff. The guys are looking around for any offers from record companies and on this offering that can't be a bad idea so contact them below. Top marks, well done chaps.

Comments This originally came out a few years back and has only just been re-released; but with a Wally Lopez Remix. Well forget that and get this beauty that came out first time round. This is a fantastic fusion of old skool hip hop and the newer dance style. I am a huge fan of electro music and at that time there was no bigger tune than 'Al Nayfish' by Hashim. This 'nicks' that awesome beat and throws some vocals over the top. If it wasn't for this, I think this would be rather cheesy; but it has the beat.

Title The Progression Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Xenuf
Comments This is a very metallic sounding tune, hard drum sounds with a nice synth effect over the top. It does take a while to get going, but really kicks in nicely once it does. Bit repetitive in that the beat is very constant and unforgiving. This would warrant a remix, but as it stands it ain't bad at all.

Title Nothing Wrong Highway Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Mo Shic
Comments This is a really deep house number, that after a while goes all progressive on you. I like the build up, except for the continuous vocals repeating themselves. Apart from that it is a nice and solid and has a really catchy chorus. It beefs up the bassline and has a really cool simple piano ensemble, with the odd 'yeah' vocal over the top. Does get a bit jumbled up in places, but it's nice and sweet. To end your set on this number wouldn't be a bad thing.
