Title Day One John O'Callaghan Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Matt Hardwick vs. Smith & Pledger
Comments This is a rare and hard to get hold of remix and one that took me sometime to track down. I am a big fan of John O?Callaghan as I feel he remixes / produces tunes really well, having been a DJ and knowing what he likes. That said, this tune is a bit slow to get going throughout; except once the main theme kicks in. The wrapping around these is a bit weak, although the good stuff is just that; good. Solid beat and a nice ?wave the hands in the air? synth, although these aren't terribly long; which is another shame. The best mix of the 3, but could have been much better.

3/5 : Good
Artist Miro
Comments I'm more used to Miro doing the chilled stuff so was interested to get my paws on a more progressive number from him. The main theme to this is a mouth organ, which sounds great and reminds me of The Grid classic ?Texas Cowboy?. It's quite a bitty tune in that there are frequent pauses and changes in the tempo, but the organ manages to hold it together. This is a nice relaxed number that moves well and has that nice retro feel to it. A welcome change from Mr Chillout.

Comments One of my fave artists on my fave label, what more could I want ?? Well, a years supply of beer would be a good start ! This is a great tune and exactly what I would expect from AoT at their best and this is at their best. It's a crazy tune that sounds exactly like what you'd expect a Turkish Bizarre to sound like, even the chanting. This is pure trance music at its most excellent, there's very little more I can say. When this lets rip, you will go wild; it's brilliant.

Artist Solid Globe
Comments 134 BPM of something completely different, well almost. This is a really fresh and vibrant tune, that really rocks and I like it. Gets down to business pretty quick enough and then a really funky beat kicks in. What's good, is that not only is there a really wacky synth effect, but just when you think it's going to stop; it changes tempo. By that, it sounds like it speeds up, purely by just slightly changing the rhythm. It works so well and is so refreshing. Not a stunner, but a real monster nonetheless.

Comments Beautiful this one. This is such a nice smooth tune, but amazingly it runs at 139 BPM. It just purrs along nicely, without a care in the world. It's almost 2 records in one as the beginning is so different to the end. Remember 'The Answer' by DJ Stigma, well this is so similar. This has got some nice haunting vocals all over it, which work very well and add to the whole tune nicely. If I had a groan it would be that the beginning is too long, you have to keep listening for the whole tune to kick in. Still bloody good tho.

Title Luv is Cool Kenny Hayes Club Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist System of Life
Comments Happy happy, clappy clappy tune. I'm becoming a real fan of Kenny Hayes as he is churning out some quality mixes as this is one of them. I generally wouldn't touch a tune with this sort of title, but this is OK. Bounces along nicely and has a good catchy 'chorus', but vocals. There isn't a dub of this, which would score much much higher. The vocals just don't work and the producer should be shot for including them. It's good, but there be words !!

Artist Gaz West & Technikal
Comments This is a full on 141 BPM head banger. This is way to hard for me, but there is a certain nicety about it once it gets going. As I say, way to hard for my liking; in fact listening to it doing this somewhat short review has given me a headache !!

Artist Cloud Nine
Comments Nice techno feel to this one. In fact I would put this back a few years as it has a sort of old feel to it. Bit slow to get going in that the sound is similar, although it has a got a good solid beat. When it does kick in, which sounds very nice, it just isn't for long enough. Just as the head is going nicely, it ends; which is where this is let down. Good, but just a bit short of some real cool and funky extended rhythm.

Title Grooveslide Vincent de Moor Trance Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Flashbang
Comments I persevered with this as it was remixed by VdM, an old fave of mine. This is OK, but not special in any way, shape or form. It is typical of VdM in that the noises is very moog like, accompanied by a solid 139 BPM track. Gets a bit crazy towards the end and I think if I heard this really loud whilst off my head, it would annoy me. Might be what you like, so give it a whirl.

Title Love Comes Again Mark Norman Remix

1/5 : Poor
Artist Tiesto ft BT
Comments This tune got so many rave reviews, but I just don't see it. This is OK, but nothing special at all. Shame, as I'm a very big fan of both artists; but this just drags along. It has a fairly solid beat, but it is so very samey. The vocals don't really help at all and it isn't until some way in that it starts to sound half decent. To be honest, this is a boring record.

Title Move Original Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Kung Fu Rodriguez
Comments Smooth and mellow this. Never heard of the artist, but the label has spawned work from Blue Amazon, so can't be too bad. This is a real slow mover, although it does run at a surprisingly fast 134 BPM. Not sure what grabs me about this, but it is just nice and simple and that for me usually works. Once it kicks in, it has a nice acid feel to it; which is refreshing. Very progressive and very simple; but worth a listen.

Title Twisted Logic Christian J Remix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist C83 ft Tamra
Comments Funky sort of disco number. Like a lot I've heard lately, nothing special. Nice solid beat that has a hint of techno, but it keeps stopping with an annoying noise all over the place. Not brilliant, but not totally crap either.
Label En:Vision : Released May 2004

Title Supreme Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Plastic Angel vs. 2 Players
Comments I like both of these artists a lot and to get them on the same tune was quite exciting. This is a good tune, typical of both. Very in your face, very euphoric, very trancey. The chorus is very ?hands in the air? time and will certainly get the hairs on the back of your neck standing up. What really lets this down is the time it takes to get going and really deliver what you after, in fact it's nearly 5 minutes. This is a real shame and a decent remix of this would certainly take it up another level.

Comments Nice. I like simple and this is that. Nothing overly complicated, just a good beat and that feeling that you desire from any good tune. Bit of a Jekyll and Hyde as well, mainly due to the slight change in direction as it builds up. Very passionate and euphoric, then the sound. All over tingle sensation as this rips through you, no word of a lie. It doesn't give you a taster and stop; it keeps going which is where so many other tunes fail. In fact, even when you think it is going to end, it doesn't. Perfect.
Label A State of Trance : Released May 2004

Title Yoake Misja Helsloot Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Mike Koglin vs. DJ Uto
Comments You know what you are going to get with Mike Koglin, a solid trance tune. This is a bit of a strange one as when it does get going, it isn't what you were expecting. This is an anthem and one that you will hear over and over again. It's a real shame that this gets going and then starts to slow down. The main bit is really nice and works well giving you that music that you need, but it then ends. Good, but could have been better.
