Title Divided Heat Original Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Sunset Kingdom
Comments This starts nicely. Purposeful beat and a nice ‘plip plop' type synth that sounds simple, but effective. After the slowdown things get a big choppy in that there is lots of screech and what feels like no progress to the melody, which you know is coming. The melody does kick in and it's not something I haven't heard before. There's an attempt second part to freshen things up, but this sounds a bit too harsh and heavy in my opinion. Some softer synths or less harsh noise would have been good, well for me anyway. Aimed at the hard end of the spectrum, but not a poor tune by any standards.

Comments This artist is growing on me, more often than not good quality tunes. This is no exception. Lots of high end synths, lots of energy and lots of suspense. The melody brings all this together and then just pounds away at your brain with a really nice sound. It's not too relentless, measured in many ways; but what you get is a pure sound. I like the vocals (if you can call them that), but the constant beat and synths really do draw you in. The melody mixes this up a bit, but it doesn't need to dabble too much. A nice sounding tune this.

3/5 : Good
Artist Flashtech
Comments This is a nice slow tune, with some deep beats and cool synths and melodies. Very much a cool down tune, but there is enough here to get you moving to. I like the synth which has a nice twang to it and the way the artist introduces nice subtle sounds here and there; is great. The melody is very much a head nod time with all the noises and synths in complete harmony. Very nice feeling to this, well produced and a pleasure to listen to.

Artist Halosphere
Comments A real summer slowdown tune, very much on the Café del Mar tip. Not really a lot to say, if you liked ‘Beachball' then you will like this as they sound similar. The synths are great, nice guitar here and there and the beat will keep you moving along. Very much one for the early hours, a nice calm down sound; but equally if you just want some nice listening. All the sounds accompany themselves well and the overall production has a quality feel to it. I like the simpleness of what the artist has done here, quite refreshing.

Comments This has an innocent feel to it, the beat is simple and the synths are quite pure. Don't let that put you off, or the title now I think of it. There's a nice tune underneath the squashed badger, one that you need to hear. The melody, although not mind blowing; has a good pace and passion that draws you in. Its simple feel is quite refreshing as your ears don't have to contend with too much noise; what they good is nice and crisp. At nearly 9 mins long, it's quite a marathon and unfortunately the ending really lets this down. It's a 3 minute ending, which should have been either shorter or another bash at the melody. Shame, this would have been better.

Title Remember When Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Mark Rustell
Comments This tune works for me. I like the simple approach to life and this is that. I would imagine playing this on the beach or at a place where it didn't need to be full on, but needed enough substance to make people listen. This has a nice beat, a purposeful feel to it and the synths and production combine really well. This isn't overload on the brain, you get a good mixture of beat and synth; which sound well when mixed. A nice change of direction for this label.

Comments This is a very good EP, all tunes worthy of a mention. Goes for pure energy with this and it delivers 100% on that front. Melody will have you banging your head and praying for more. Second part when the piano break kicks in is wonderful and really does lift this into the clouds. The pure drive from the beat is also something special, keeps you at it for a while. This is let down by a weak ending, which is a crying shame. You definitely need this though, top tune.

Comments Great trance sound this has, strong with the force it is. Don't know why, this has what I want at the moment. Has that great trance sound and fell to it and delivers a strong and interesting sound. This just has it, no other reason. The melody blows itself it your head, bounces around and then leaves a pleasing afterthought. The melody is also long, which is super good as this is a super good tune. Quality trance from a quality label, thank you!

Comments Not my fave artist, so not sure why I went for this; but glad I did. Has a bit of an annoying tech edge to this, which I don't like; but it's not the end of the world. In fact it does grow on you a bit, probably because the synth that comes in over the top of it. The tune soon settles down to something much more easy on the ears, in fact the whole melody changes very nicely. I like the build-up to the melody, quite tantalising. The melody uses all this to good effect and what you get sounds good. There are 2 melodies, although there is a wide gap between them. This needs a bit more and less of the tech noise, I don't like it sorry. The tune works well, but this and the big gap between melodies let it down.

Title She's Wonderful Original Vocal Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Touchstone & Ian Standerwick
Comments A vocal tune this, a male vocal tune as well. I generally prefer the male vocals, don't know why. This is a very passionate sound, with lots of high end synths that really deliver a true euphoric sensation. The vocals embedded in this sound really good and with everything else going on, compliment things. The piano break is a nice touch; in fact all the sounds here really blend. That's quite odd as at first listen there's a lot going on, but bear with it. So all good stuff, but there's more needed. Great chorus, but the start and end are weak. Still a good tune though.

Comments This is one of them artists that either delivers a quality sound or doesn't, there is no in-between. This starts kind of weak, but has a very nice bouncy twangy synth that kept me interested first time round. The slowdown is a bit off putting as well as you get a very slow woman ‘singing' which is too slow in my opinion. This however builds into quite a terrific uplifting tune. The melody is full of life and lots of good strong synths that really deliver a vibrant and happy sound. Good length on this as well so you can really get into what the artist is about. In fact, the melody has 3 distinct parts so when you think it's going to end, it doesn't. A weak start, but a very strong ending and well worth the investment.

Title Hole in the Sky Arctic Moon Remix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Tonny Nesse
Comments This starts all confused, has the trance feel; but is a tad stop start and doesn't flow right. The slowdown is very similar in that it jumps about and to be honest I didn't have a scooby where this was going. When it does launch, although you have order and no more confusion; it's still somewhat disappointing. Very average sound and melody, has an undertone attributed the label owners; which is OK I suppose. Not earth shattering this, but I guess that's just my taste.

Title Two Worlds Collide Rene Ablaze pres. Fallen Skies Remix

Artist Dirkie Coetzee & Ludgy
Comments Unusual sound this one, very techy with a fuzzy synth which is completely different to the much more defined slowdown. I like the piano here, lots of passion and the synths that build around it sound really nice. The build-up intensifies to a rather pleasant melody. It does sound flat in terms of the pitch, but listen hard as there's a lot going on and it's a very nice moving feeling that it generates. Piano thrown in for good measure, not needed, but a welcome addition. This surprised me as the start was a tad weak, but the middle got this moving nicely.

Title Until Hell Freezes Over Ferry Tayle Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Oen Bearen & Pillow
Comments Love the name of this, but do I love the tune? It's not bad, but it's not brill either. Bit run of the mill to some degree in that the tune doesn't do anything that you've not heard a 100 times before. I do like the underlying synth that gives this an air of importance and some real depth. This is quite prominent in the slowdown, which I have to say is quite pleasant. The synth is nice and crisp and delivers its point from the off, so you are not left with any doubts at the end. The melody is lacking and although it does sound good, it needs an injection of something as although in the second half it tries, it does not succeed. I like this sound, but like so many before it; should have been more and better.

Comments The usual Solarstone sound, but not the quality. This is a good tune, but sounds like it has been rushed out. The noises are great and the added vocal in places adds nicely, but it is quite an ordinary record. Perhaps I have become a bit used to the really good stuff that now again it's just good stuff. Perhaps and if so, here it is. I still like, but it's not the cream.
