Comments Can't work out whether to class this as progressive, good slow solid build-up with lots of good sounds. The feel to this is progressive, so let's stay with that. Nice sounds throughout, not too much going on, but what you get is enough to keep the taste buds hooked. The melody towards the end is bit drawn, but stay with it as it does up its game. Apart from that, this is a good all-rounder which would have benefited from being slightly shorter, not often I saw that.

Comments There's a few good mixes here, with this being what I consider the best. Typical to the label in that this is a good solid club tune, with lots of good trance sounds, very anthem almost. Not sure of late why tunes seem to have a longer build-up, which this does. You do get a bit of piano thrown in to keep you interested. Does it work and is it worth it? Yes, to a point. The melody lays down a good beat, lots of feeling and an all-round happy feeling. It starts to change tempo mid flow and this keeps going with the piano break coming back in, which is a nice touch. I say it a lot, it's not going to change music forever; but as a solid club tune, nice.

Comments Very trance this, but then you'd expect that from this label. Not a lot to say really, I like the beat throughout; I like the general vibe to the tune and I like the overall production. The breakdown hits a nice spot in terms of the repetitive trance feel, the synths sound very crisp and precise. What doesn't happen is any deviation to the master plan; it's a bit tunnel vision. If an extra synth or change in tempo had been thrown in this would have been right up there, as it stands it's just there.

Comments Hhhm, I like the start of this; gets down to business very quickly. The really good thing is that it's a long tune, so this must mean we're in for something special. Well yes, it does. This is a super nice tune, everything I like in music. Clear crisp beat and with good synths and sounds on top, perfect. Man v Music, with this; music wins hands down. The energy of this is so in your face and the melody is long, it just keeps pummelling your ears and it's wonderful. This is a tune that needs to be played very loud, not just because all music should be played loud; but so everyone around you can enjoy it. Nothing to criticise here, so just buy it.

Comments This has a touch of an old feel about it, I think it's the beat mid flow that is a bit retro; which I liked. The downside is that although the sounds within this are good, the production to me is missing a bit. It sounds a tad on the ‘home bedroom' side, but not as rough. Now, not knocking that as that's where it all begins, but this just has that feel to it. The melody is nice, the synths sound good with the rest of the production; but it feels a bit amateur to me. Perhaps I'm being harsh, but as an up and coming artist, then good things will surely come.

Comments I was very wary of this tune, especially as it was on Vandit. As much as I have the upmost respect for PvD, especially his early stuff; I think this label is poor. Am I being harsh, well as it's my opinion; no. This is an OK tune and I was right to be wary. This is aimed at the cheese market, which for two sound artists is a shame. It sounds well produced and thought through, but the execution of the idea isn't brill. This will appeal too many, but I think there is a lot better quality out there that offers so much more. This is very run of the mill.

Comments By virtue of the title you can guess this is going to be a slow trancer and it is very much that. That said it does sound slower than the 132BPM it runs at, so a tad odd. But what about the tune? Nice. I like the melody it builds nicely up with all different synths and then comes to a big crescendo, although in keeping with the mellow mood I would add. The melody does get a nice uplift towards the end, quite a shrill of a sound; but works well. The whole feel to this is just about right and although quite pacey, still enough to keep you going.

Comments It's on the progressive arm of Alter Ego for a reason, it's very progressive. Quite painfully slow to get going this, with no real hints at what is coming up. Sure, the beat and sound work well; but unless you have that gut feel for things it can be difficult. Do keep listening though as close to the breakdown you get a very distinct synth kick in which then carries the tune along quite nicely if I'm honest. The breakdown is also nice and long, with a quick pause in the middle before it gets back down to business. The more I listen to this the more I like, just listen through the first half.

Comments A good classic trance tune this, has all the usual noises and feeling you'd expect from a normal track. Not saying this is normal just follows the tried and tested route. By following this route it means it isn't going to blow you away and this won't. What you get in the melody is a nice crisp trance sound, made up of the usual ingredients. It's got good pace and a nice chord, but not a lot more. I like it (which may not be obvious), but only as a tune that I hear and think is OK. Towards the end you get a piano break, but it's not long enough; but a variation nonetheless.

Comments This is a pacey tune, that hits the beat running very early on. This is probably the biggest problem with the whole tune is that it doesn't change. It's the same beat and tempo throughout, with no real differences to speak of. That said, might not be a bad thing and in this instance it isn't a crippler as what you get is a very solid trance tune that delivers a hard and pacey beat, which at time sis quite relentless. The melody is a good length and it does get mixed up a bit. So, if you like your trance hard; you will like this.

Comments Originally released back in 2002 and reviewed on this site, a nice return for one of my fave artists (and their various other guises). You get all the original mixes, plus two new ones. The new version actually improves on the original. It is much more funky and has a good hard edge to things, plus a really nice synth that reverbs throughout. A very progressive track and it's this that appeals to me. The vocal work well with this track, very subtle and in step with the rest of things. This is definitely a good remix to be the tune up-to-date, doesn't always work; but this does.

Comments Firstly I have to thank the artist for sending all the mixes of this to me, much appreciated. There are quite a few mixes, but I didn't like most of them; but at least you have a choice. The dub is the better tune in my opinion as I didn't like the male vocals, they made it sound dreary. This version would have been better if it had been longer as there's some good stuff, but no enough of it. The 2012 Mix isn't bad, has the vocals, but a different approach to things. The 2006 mix is also quite good, more funky electro than dance. This will appeal to some of you as it's a nice subtle tune, not a floor filler; one for the car or MP3 player. Disappointing (sorry Vadim).

Comments This tries very hard to be a good tune. I like that the artist has taken a different approach to the sounds being used, blended with a classic style. There is an odd synth throughout (sounds a bit Casualty) that you will either like or not, it does grate a bit. That said, when you get to the melody you are treated to a nice experience. A sound beat, a good melodic feel and an extra piano break thrown in for good measure. It also flows on for quite a while allowing you to really soak things up. This is a club sound, it's not something that is fantastic, but then again it's not naff either. You have to listen to the whole track, don't go on the first 3 minutes, what is at the end is nice.

Comments After ‘Awakenings' I thought I'd give this a listen, it's not as good. What I do like is that it gets down to business quite quickly, there is not a long drawn out build-up and when you get there it has a real nice sound. Simple synths with a piano to enhance the sound, always works well in my book. There are some ‘vocals' thrown in, but nothing too off putting; in fact they fit well. Two bites at the cherry with the melody as well, which is always a nice thing. Nothing overly different, but with the little break in between it works well and makes the tune that bit more special. A good offering and worth a listen.

Comments This is an interesting tune. Starts with real purpose and you get that feeling that it will develop into something quite nice and it does. I prefer this version as it was a bit softer, although at 136BPM it sounds a lot less. Lots of melodic sounds in this, swirling synths and a nice beat to keep it all together. The main melody is just a culmination of everything, but put together in a nice ‘moment of sound'. There's an extra bit in the second half, that just ups the pace and feeling to a better level. I would have liked it to have continued as it would then have been a very good tune, as it stands it's a good tune and one to cast your ears over.
