Comments | Nice tune this, quite relaxed and slowed down in places, but also fresh and funky when needed. I like the bass line for this, very deep and complimentary of the rest of the sound. The melody is a very nice piano break, with some extra synths in places to lift it up. This is very much aimed as a relax type tune, offering some deep vibes along with some nice uplifting sounds. Tad on the short side, which is a shame as it needs a second melody for your ears to digest. Good none the less.

Comments | I love the sounds you get early on, they are quite quirky and along with the twangy feel make this sound very different to the norm. Things bounce along quite nicely, but then the slowdown goes a bit pear shaped. I don't like the ‘guitar' sound; it sounds out of place oddly enough. After a while things go back to a normal tune, nice beat and the typical synths you would expect. I find this a bit jumbled up to be honest, things end very differently to how they started and in reflection it doesn't really work. Beginning and end as separate tunes would be good, but not as one. Frustrating. Scores well as it is a good idea and both bits do sound good on their own.

Comments | This is quite a deep sound, but with a good piece of trance about it. The beat really does thud through this, quite piercing and when the melody kicks in you get a very different type of synth. The two work well together, the whole thing sounding slightly on the depressed side of life. The piano does lift this, but the overall feel is deep and dark. Not a bad thing as when done properly this mood can be very effective. Is this though? Yes and no. I like the melody as the synth work is really nice and as the tune is so deep, it's very uplifting. The tone is a tad repetitive though, again not a bad thing; just need to be prepared. Every time I listen to this, it makes me smile; so that must be good.

Comments | OK, this is a vocal track; which as you will know isn't what I normally go for. This is a good vocal track. Why? Well, the vocals actually work and complement the main tune really well. They are not over powering in any way, even though there is quite a bit of it. Very much a progressive tune, so you do have to bear with things and wait for the main melody. What happens I that there is a synth, with the vocals and some nice background noise. All 3 are blended really nicely together to deliver a sound that on the one hand is hard, but on the other quite soothing. Has a nice catchy feel to it, the bass line moves well and the synth has a nice bouncy feel. Not perfect and not everyone's taste, but you may be surprised.

Comments | Taken from the remixes album of the same name, this is a pretty good tune. In fact, the album itself isn't too bad with some varying tracks. This starts well, nice club sound with some good background work. You get the obligatory slowdown as you would expect, which turns into a nice long extended melody. It's not in 2 parts, just one long go at the sound and it works really well. Lots of pace and passion to it, really does feel like a peak time tune. The synths knock out a great vibe and because it goes on for a while you can really get into things. I like this, very worth a listen; plus the album to.

Comments | Quite a banging start to this tune, so don't be put off and do bear with things. It does clam down and you get a weird vocal (if you can call it that) and then it launches into a really nice sound. There's a nice little piano break (very subtle), plus the weird vocals; bit all together it sounds good. This is very much the remixer as the Original is quite stale. The beginning is annoying as it doesn't do the rest of the track credit and oddly enough it ends on the faster sound. Ignoring them bits a good tune.

Comments | Both versions of this are very good, offering a different take on the tune which is a very welcome thing. I went for the Colonial One offering as it was tad more mellow, but funky with it. Really fresh sound this, simple beat with a single synth that basically dictates the sound. It doesn't deviate too much, but it doesn't need to as what you have just works. I like simple and this does that really well, but just to keep things nice there is a piano added towards the end; nice. This is a song to be heard loud and one definitely for the beach, or somewhere hot; this sums up the summer. What with 2 good versions, a must buy.

Comments | This is one of them tunes I had to listen to a few times to check whether I actually liked it. That isn't always a good thing, but this one turned out to be OK. The thing that I don't like is the prolonged start, over 4 minutes before you get any real sound. Once you get there, it's OK; no ground breaking; but OK. The pace is good and the synths sound equally as good, it just doesn't blend as well as I would like and the melody is far too short. None of the other mixes address this problem, which is a shame as there is a tune here waiting to get out.

Comments | I was in contact with Don aka Headstrong many many years ago when he was trying to break into the market. In fact he designed my site's logo. I'm so glad that he has done well and this tune is a great testament to his work. I heard this when I was having a very difficult day and it did almost bring me to tears and that will stay with me forever, a good thing I would add. Don't usually like vocal tunes, but the vocals here are very powerful and Aurosonic just enhance the whole thing. Lots of other mixes to choose from, there will be something for everyone here. It's a long tune and perhaps could be a few minutes shorter, but a minor criticism. Not my normal cup of tea, but it caught me on a bad day and helped me through a few things.

Comments | Been a while since I've heard from this artist, so was intrigued to listen to an oddly named track. Worth the wait as this is very different to the norm and it works a treat. Very deep dark sound, with some great drumming in the background. There's also an ambience created by a synth, or a collection of synths if I'm honest that really add a dark feel to this. It's progressive to say the least, slowly building itself up; but to what? Things do fade out, but not after a good workout on the ears. This is different, which I like.

Artist | Zirenz vs. Ben Alonzi Adriz
Comments | ‘Edge of Space' is an awesome track by Zirenz, so I was keen to hear this; which I will say now isn't as good. It tries hard using some really good powerful and a pumping bass line, but there is too much going on and it goes overboard. At 140BPM it's at the top end of the scale and it's because of this that the tune fails miserably. I really didn't want this to happen, but it does. I don't often knock a track, but on this occasion I feel the need. Avoid this.

Comments | I don't often go for AvB tracks, but I persevered through the ‘Mirage (Remixes)' album and came up with this. The rest of the album is very vocal, which isn't my thing; but there are some big name remixers and there will be a track or two that will appeal. This is more progressive and what I would expect from Max Graham. This stops mid-way and has a nice angelic vocal piece that leads up to the main melody. Once this gets going it's a nice sound, nothing too much; but enough to keep you interested. It is progressive and it works well, with each new bit adding a tad more to change the feel or tempo. It is short on the good stuff, which is a shame otherwise this could have been something quite special. For now it is just something.

Comments | A bit of a chilled offering at 131BPM is this. Reminds me very much of the ‘Café del Mar' series of albums as a tune that would appear. Does this mean this is a good tune though? It's an OK tune, not a great one. Takes a while to really get going and then doesn't last for all that long. To be fair, the whole ensemble is geared for this as it's not just about the melody; it's the sound that gets us there and how that feels. I like this loud in the car, very relaxing. It's a soothing tune, one to calm you down rather than to get the heart racing. Mellow.

Comments | Another re-release from Porcupine and one that I had forgotten about, so pleased for the reminder. Originally came out in 1991, so a good 20 years old. Dance music sounded so good then and this track is very much the reason why. It does sound a tad dated now, but you have to listen to what is going on. This is progressive music at it's very best. From the beginning this is just building up, but by bit to one big crescendo of sound. The sound is clear and concise and the synths are truly wonderful. Very distinct, especially the drumming in the background. This just oozes quality, all be it dated quality. Listen to this loud with your eyes closed, wonderful.

Comments | Originally released in 2001, this is a very deep and interesting tune. You have to stay with it, very abstract and quite ‘out there'; especially at the time of original release. The production of this record is quite mad, some really weird noises going on and the freakiest of vocals (if you can call them that). The melody in the middle is quite out of place for the rest of the tune, but sheer genius at the time from the artists. Mad as a hatter this tune and not necessarily a good sound now. Very different and it would be a brave person to play this out, but I'd love to be there when they did.
