Title Desire Redstar Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Enton Mushi feat. Kerri Brown
Comments Has to listen to a track by an artist called Enton Mushi (who is a man in case you were wondering) and I'm glad I did. Takes a bit to get going, but whilst you get there the vocals are a tad crazy, but they sound really good. A typical club beat with an equally typical club trance noise. The vocals do go off on one and I have no idea what they are about, but they bring a nice dimension to the tune. The melody is just a funked up beat with even more crazy vocals which lift it up nicely. This is just slightly different from the norm, which is what appeals to me.

Comments This is a nice tune. I really like the underlying feel to this and how it fades in and out, great on the senses. You get this pretty much throughout the whole tune, which does after a while start to get tedious; but fortunately the artist some extra sounds to the mix to freshen things up. The melody lasts for quite a while and has a good feel to it, it's pretty much what you hear from the off; but with some extra funk for good measure. By no means a classic, but a good tune to start off with.

Artist Manvel Ter-Pogosyan
Comments Well, the artist goes down in my books as having the most bizarre name of late. As for the tune, it's quite different to my normal taste. Firstly, it's a vocal number and for these I am really picky. This works OK actually as the main sound complements the overall tune really well. The vocals aren't overpowering, just right for my liking. The synths work well, again complementing the vocals and giving the tune a nice lift in the right places. A good tune that has a nice catchy element to it.

Comments Hhmmm, there is something familiar about this tune and I can't put my finger on it. Good fresh feeling to this, nice beat that moves along really well and equally pleasing synth line to back it all up. The melody is nice, bouncy in places with a touch of club stuff thrown in as it always works. A very familiar sound, not a common one I would add and it works well. Could have done with two melodies, would have made it a stunning track. As it stands it's a solid good one.

Comments A stunning tune, I was blown away when I heard this. OK, the build up is pretty mediocre, but leave it a while and let the whole feel of this tune take over your senses. It's a fantastic tune. The melody just flows beautifully, making every hair on the back of your neck stand up. It's a blissful club tune this, peak time euphoria at it's very best. The melody is also nice and long so you can really lose yourself in the music. There are other mixes as well, Paul van Dyk doesn't do half bad, but the original is truly sublime.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Baz Lalor
Comments This is an extremely laid back tune. The beat is there, but not for a lot of this. Lots of ambient noise and nice little effects in places. This is just one of them tunes that you will either like or not. I heard it after a long day on the lash and it was very relaxing. Even know it's sending nice vibes through my body. Not much of a melody in here, just a constant tune with a constant sound. Very much on the ambient tip of life.

3/5 : Good
Artist Impulsive Drive
Comments This is quite different to my usual taste. It's a club tune, but much more tech. Has some nice reverbed vocals and some equally nice piano breaks. Good solid beat and the melody does lift this up quite nicely. Lots of noise and synths going off, sounds a bit cluttered; but just about hangs in there. It's a different sound, but one that works.

Artist Sky Motion
Comments Hhhmmm, can't quite put my finger on this way. Starts OK, but has a long build up that after a while does get a tad of cheese about it. The cheese then continues into the main melody, which is actually not that bad. It's nice and long with the later half changing pitch to keep things nice and fresh. The sound itself is a tad dated, but there is a nice piano break thrown in; and I do like my piano. It's quite a noisy tune, lots going on; but you can hear it all OK and it's not overly distracting. Curious one and one that depends on what mood I am in. At the moment, I'm in an OK mood.

Artist Firestorm pres. Coll & Tolland
Comments Good fast and pacey start, which I really like. Good strong beat, lots of purpose and even more important lots of promise of goodness to come. It kinda does. The melody kicks in and delivers a good vibe, but it doesn't match the start. Yes, it's just as fierce; but you'd expect it to really crank up the handle and blind you with sound. It does, but not as much as you'd hope. Don't get me wrong, a solid club tune that sounds great; but just lacking that little something that makes a great tune.

Comments Another tune that starts really well. Nice and solid, with some nice synths going off in the background. The melody is very euphoric, with lots of spacey sounds; plus and enhanced second part which changes things slightly. This is built upon with a really in your face sound, one that does lift the tune up quite dramatically and is a very welcome addition. It does have something missing. I can't quite put my finger on it, but all the ingredients for this are there; they just don't all come together in the right place. A great tune though.

Title Essentia Fast Distrance Remix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Sindre Eide
Comments This is quite a cheesy tune in terms of the sound, very much aimed at the commercial market. It has that distinct Fast Distance sound, just cheesed up. Not sure if it works, very samey throughout and very little in terms of changing the feel of things. Shame as the tune starts well, but it's a tad too long for the sort of noise it delivers. I have to admit to being disappointed as the remixer is one I have a lot of time for, but not too much on this occasion.

Comments I do like this artist; I like his simplistic approach to making music sound good. I like this tune, but it's long and quite slow to get going. It needs a few minutes chopped off the beginning and then we'd be into serious good territory. As it stands there are two solid melodies, the second being much more euphoric and in your face. The beat, as you'd expect; is solid and the synths add a really nice trance like feel to things. It's nice and simple in that it delivers a good sound based on a tried and tested formula. I like this, good one for them hairs on the back of your neck.

Title Indium Original Mix

2/5 ; Not Bad
Artist A98
Comments There is something different about this that is quite appealing. I think it's the slight techno edge it has and the ‘rough' synths in places. It also relies on the old tried and tested harsh sounding synth, one that you can't but not hear. I like it, works well. It's also quite clever in adding a more subtle synth to calm things down after a heavy session. Where this gets let down is too long a build up and too short a melody in the middle. What there is nice, needed more to make it really stand out.

Title Lost Odyssey Original Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Manul le Saux
Comments This is another artist that I like; generally a good fresh style of music and this is no different. Woefully slow to get going which lets this down hugely as when you get to the melody it doesn't really let go. It's a nice long one with a good solid beat and nice fresh feel to it, but that's all. There's no fanfare of sound or moment of sheer brilliance. This is a solid dependable tune, but nothing that I would go back to more than a few times.

Title Midas Touch Onova Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Mark Eteson feat. Dan Stone
Comments Yeah, I like this. Had to listen to it a few times, but it's grown on me. This is what I would call a classic type of club tune. Goes in with a thumping beat and bass line, which works and then throws some extra synths on top for good measure. This all works very nicely. The melodies, yes there are two; then take this and add some tempo and funk things up. The result is a solid sounding tune, a really toe tapper and one that will get the hands in the air.
