Title Fallen Tides Dub Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Mark Pledger vs. Matt Hardwick feat. Melinda Gareh
Comments This is quite different for the artist, almost a mellow tune; but with a funky beat. This is quite a free flowing tune, nice beat and a nice feeling to go with it. A fairly average tune, but it just that something to keep you listening. I like the mellow feel, but with the harder edge in the background. The anthems are easy to listen to, nothing too noisy or complicated; just a smooth sound. Not really a lot I can say to be honest; it's just a good tune that you should have a listen to.

Title Remember this Sunrise Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Sunchasers
Comments I almost missed this one, glad I didn't. Starts quite slowly, the beat is sound enough and there is some nice noise to keep you listening. It has the usual pause and then a cheesy sounding synth is brought into play, which sets the tone there and then. This is a summer tune. Very mellow, yet pacey; works well. This is a great driving tune if anything, nice and cheerful and not heavy on the senses. It doesn't have an anthem as such, the tune progressively builds up more and more; leading to a kind of crescendo. Nothing brilliant, but certainly not crap and if you are looking for that summer tune; then look no further.

Title Adrift in Space Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Anguilla Project pres. Star Industry
Comments This is a happy sounding tune. Tries hard to be a good tune, but there is something that let's this down. Ok, the beat is a solid enough one and the anthem is OK. I think it's the anthem though that has the problem. It's a tad on the clicky side and then tries hard by throwing in a weird sort of sound towards the end, which doesn't really work. Needs a lot more expression in this tune. It's a good starting point and may tickle your fancy more than mine.

Title Oasis Sequnetia Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Cold Blue
Comments I do get a bit cold sometimes with this artist, but thought that Sequentia might beef this up a tad. It's a tad on the dreary side to start, but that does pick up once you get to the melody. There's only the one, but it's quite a long one and the tempo does change throughout as it goes along. The main sound is OK, the beat moves along nicely; but there's something missing. It doesn't grab you by the balls and squeeze real tight; it's more of a tickle. It does sound OK, but there's so much out there at the moment and this doesn't really get its head above water.

Title enTrance Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Paul Miller vs. Manual le Saux
Comments A solid enough club tune this. Hands in the air sort of stuff if you get my drift. I very anthem type feel to this, the melody basically throws a whole load of sound at you and then your senses have to work it all out. Not too difficult, as although the melody is a nice long one; it doesn't change all that much. For once this works as the tune is clearly designed around not changing too much. It just delivers a sound, which is a good one. Won't go far wrong with this one.

Title Alchera Steve Allen Remix

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Steve Allen & Will B
Comments A very euphoric tune this, very much in your face. Two very good melodies that deliver a really great sound. OK, it's not new; but tried and tested always works for me as long as it's well delivered. This delivers very well, a great beat and a great underlying sound throughout. Very much on the classic tip, this is what you will be hearing at peak times in the clubs. Odd, I don't generally like this; but for once I do; must have caught me on an off day !

Artist Yans
Comments Yans has always been kind enough to send me his tune in advance of release. He has a very diverse sound and this is another feather in his bow. This starts really dolid and then goes off on a serious mellow tip, which works really well. Then it's back down to business with a great sound. Lots of noise going on, but in harmony and not overloading your sense. These fade away to a more subtle approach and then straight back in. Throughout there is an underlying ‘calm' piano which sounds great, but you have got to listen out for it. Good long melody here, works really well. My only moan, the end does drag out a bit. There, I have to moan about something.

Title Tour de Trance Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Fire & Ice
Comments I was quite excited when I got hold of this, but have to admit to being a tad disappointed. The tune has a good sound to it, it's a just a bit too samey. There's a nice start with the main theme being delivered without the beat, has a very haunting affect. The beat then kicks in and the sound is taken up a notch, but it doesn't go much further. This is still a good tune, with a clear trance sound and feel to it. Perhaps my anticipation was a bit high, don't know why; but it was. You should have a listen as people are going to like this.

Title Waves Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Nitrous Oxide
Comments This guy was the best thing since the previous best thing a year or so back, but I've felt of late that his sound has gone a bit stale. So, I thought I'd go back in time to an earlier release and see how it faired. This is a pretty good tune, back to basics if anything with a typical trance / club like sound. It's not the stormin' tune I'm used to, but in terms of delivering a sound (that is over a year old) it holds up pretty well against some of the newer stuff. Two melodies thrown in for good measure and a respectable length in terms of track time. Works for me.

Title Sahara Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Yans
Comments Yans has been kind enough to send me his tunes in the past, so I was pleased to get his latest offering. This is a much mellower offering than before and one that I had to listen to a few times in order to really hear what he'd done. Very much on the euphoric side of life, which I generally really like. Has a touch of the eastern amount it as well, again; it works. What is missing is a real killer melody. The tune keeps hinting at one, but it misses out. The epic bits work really well, but it needs something else. If you want this as a chilled tune, then great, but it deserves more. Every time I listen to it I'm willing it on, but it doesn't happen. A good tune none the less, perhaps a remix is in the offing ?

Title When My Satellite Falls Down Terry Bones Dub

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Lustral
Comments I am a huge fan of Lustral and it's been a while since I've seen new material from them, so was pleased to get my hands on this. So, is it any good ? Yes, it isn't half bad. A really deep tune this, but with a nice and smooth undertone. Doesn't go mad with sound, just delivers a smooth groove. Not epic trance, more of a funky chillout tune. The second anthem is much more uplifting as there's more noise that comes together in a neat little crescendo. It's not overpowering, just sufficient. A nice tune.
Label Lustral Music : Released February 2008

Title Pure Sense Nitrous Oxide Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Marnix
Comments I love the feel of this tune. It has a real old feel to it, very Cafe del Mar (for you older ones out there). A good beat with a really nice feel in the background. This isn't a peak time sort of tune, but to warm you up and get the taste buds flowing. Very simple, a main synth on a good beat with extras thrown in here and there. You have to listen real careful in the background for a nice extra synth, that sounds great. The main anthem is a good length as well, just long enough so you can really immerse yourself in the sound. It's not an outstanding tune, but still a solid one.
Label Conspiracy Recordings : Released February 2008

Title Heart to Heart Sean Tyas Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Talla 2XLC vs. Sean Tyas
Comments I got this because of Sean Tyas as I'm not a fan of Talla 2XLC. This has a hard beat, very typical of Tyas. It does make this tune pound along much better than the Original, but it still doesn't do the business for me. Yes, it's an OK tune and yes I'm being fussy; but heard it all before. I suppose I expect too much, but this is really average. Fans of 2XLC will love it, if you aren't a fan have a listen first.
Label Tetsuo : Released February 2008

Title Down to the Wire Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Frase & Koto
Comments There is something about this record that I really like. I can't quite put my finger on what, but it just has something about it. The whining voice is a bit annoying, but once you get over that there is a really great tune here. The first anthem is a taster, with the second really going to town on your ears. Loud is the only way to listen to this, to ensure you hear the lot and not just the obvious stuff. Could have been a tad longer on the anthems, but then I am a fussy git.
Label Insatiable Records : Released February 2008

Title Burning Red Skies Original Mix

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Saint Rush
Comments Had to listen to this a few times to really get into it. Why ? it's a very mellow tune, quite slow paced so I needed to be in the right mood. Once you get past all that, a nice little number awaits you. You get a taste early on of what is going to happen and the build up is really well put together. The anthem just delivers a really atmospheric sound, one that really does get them hairs standing up on the back of your neck. There's a twangy guitar throughout, which gives this a nice summer feeling. I like this tune; it is just in time for summer.
