Comments Can't argue with this tune, it's really good. It has a very fresh and different feel to it. I think it's the bassline it's overpowering and the beat is very crisp and sharp. Also has a feeling of being very 70's, can't explain what I mean there; but it does. Two great melodies, both nice and long and both nice and funky. The second has a great ending that really cranks up the heat. This just sounds different to the normal stuff that I hear and it's that that makes this stand out. A really cool tune.

Comments Well, I challenge anyone not to have a copy of this in their collection. I have the original when it came out on Platipus ! Many would argue this record really put dance music onto the scene; it's still a great track. With great tracks come lots of rip offs and this is the only one I've heard that actually been OK. Keeps all the feelings of the original and throws in some nice hard beats. It's a shame the melody is so short and only once otherwise this would be a much better tune. Still, beggars and choosers as they say.

Comments I don't know what it is, but every time I hear this I think of the film ‘Top Gun'; really weird. Anyway, an OK tune. Doesn't really do too much in terms of music, quite basic. Good solid beat as you'd expect, but the anthem is slow coming. That aside, the anthem is actually quite good in delivering a good feeling and vibe. I think it's the guitar sound that reminds me of the film which is probably why I think it's a bit on the cheesy side. Don't get me wrong, it's not an awful tune; it's an OK tune. The guitar is a good idea, it just sounds a bit out of place. Have a listen and make your own mind up.

Comments This takes a bloody age to get going and it borders on really annoying as there is a ton of potential in this track. Great haunting sound to this, just keeps going on and on in your head. If you listen carefully, there's a really deep synth in the background which sounds great. The main anthem is quite deceiving, the first part kicks off and ends quite quickly and you think it's going to end. Don't fret keep listening and it will start in earnest. Not a real in your face tune, a simple beat with a synth and not much else. It does have a something about it and sometimes I listen to this and think what a pile of crap, other times I think differently. So, it's a mood tune !

Comments This pumps from the first second, very powerful hard beat. Things then slow down and you get treated to a very atmospheric little number, all synth and piano. This doesn't last too long before the beat starts again, but this time accompanied with the synth from earlier. This just keeps going and just gets better and better. It sounds so sweet and simple, just take what works, funk it up a tad and then let rip. I like this, it's fresh and although not overly different, different enough. Enhanced are fast becoming a seriously good label.

Comments This has got a fantastic undertone to it, really deep and dark. The beat moves nicely within the tune, with some nice subtle synths in places which add to the dark atmosphere. On top of this, there's the odd vocals thrown in, which again work really well. The problem with this tune is its too long and the gap in the middle slows it down far too much. Also, the main melodies are a tad on the short side; so bearing in mind the track length that's a real shame. That aside, as a tune to mix in and out it's great; just needs a shorter version with all the good stuff pushed together.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Paul Miller pres. Motion Blur
Comments This tune starts out really strong, good solid beat, nice rhythm and a twangy synth in the places. Once it gets going, it's a tad on the disappointing side. The melody is OK; sounds good on the ears; but it's repetitive and doesn't offer up anything really cool. It takes about 5 mins to kick in so after the wait you do expect to be more blown away they you actually are. It's an OK tune, just something that I've heard before and just doesn't make me want to listen to over and over.

Comments This is a strange record and one you have to bear with. The first 5 mins are a tad on the slow side, but it does eventually turn into a real belter of a tune. This goes back to basics and takes the classic trance sound and then funks it up a tad. Throw in a beat and the odd techie synth and you get this. It's a tad on the hard side, but with the other noises going on it sounds really good. The second part of the track is one nice long melody, with the obligatory break in the middle. It's not groundbreaking, but it does have a good sound to it; shame about the beginning.

Comments You have to bear with this as it starts very wishy washy. The beat then settles down and you start to get a good feel about it and then out of the blue it goes all angelic on you. This in itself works really well, but then the beat cranks itself up a notch and the tune turns into quite an awesome little number. It sounds really good, very much like the sublime ‘Heavens Gate' of many a year ago. The problem is that where this should have been thrashing your senses over and over it trails of. Still a quality track.

Comments Hhhmm, a very interesting tune; verges on the Enigma tunes of old. I usually expect this artist to deliver pounding trance, this is a welcome break as this time it's a quality trance tune that delivers what I like. The melody is a nice one, very much aimed at being chilled; but just funky enough not to be. I like the piano break in places and the atmospheric synths really give this a presence. This is a quality club tune that will melt you away, or de stress if you've had a shit day; either one will work.

Comments This has a fantastic undertone to it, which kicks in almost straight away. It just that feeling about that, the one where you are left to anticipate what's coming up. It's a long tune, so does take a while to get going; but you are treated to a fantastic build up with some really funky noises and beats. The melody is nice and very long with an extra piano break added mid way; which always sounds good. I really like this, it's very simple, has a fantastic beat and is subtly different to all the normal stuff. The length works as well, as the build up really compliments the ending. Very nice.

Comments Reminds me in places of the Big Brother tune, which before it went public was a good track. This is a real hard hitter, very powerful bass and a pumping beat; it works very well. Does take a while to really let loose on the senses and when it does it really does. Lots of sound and passion, with two melodies back to back with the later having that extra tempo. It's a shame that the melody isn't longer, bearing in mind it's quite a build up. No getting away from the fact this really hits hard and is a great tune.

Comments I had to listen to this quite a few times as I couldn't make my mind up. Not too sure why as this is a pretty good tune. Has a spacey sound to it, with the main noise having a bit of echo on it. The anthem is pretty standard, has a nice uplifting vibe in the background and the main synth sounds good within. The nice bit is that as you think it's going to end, the synth disappears; but the beat keeps going with a little extra emphasis. The other track ‘Crystal' is also a pretty good tune, so between the two of them you won't go far wrong.

Artist Mystery Islands & Stefan Cambridge pres. Chapter G8
Comments Two big artists so you'd expect a big tune, so you won't be overly disappointed. Good intro, lots of passion and the vocals echoing in and out sound good. Takes a while to get to the real meat of things, which is a real slamming tune. If anything, it's a tad heavy for me as it really does pound away. It's a bit out of context bearing in mind the more smooth build up. It still sounds good, so if you are looking for that tune to play mid way through your set; then this will fit the bill.
Label Alter Ego Pure : Released October 2008

Title Turn On Fast Distance Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Paul Miller & Michael Mystica
Comments Not as strong a tune as I'd hoped, bearing in mind all the artists involved. The beginning is quite drawn out, but then there is a nice sound introduced on top of a piano; which sounds really good. Sounds a bit pacey, frantic almost; but it doesn't run away with things. The melody is short and sweet and once it's done the tune fades out. It's OK and good in places; but nothing that made me really sit up and listen.
