Comments Gets off to a great start this one, pounding beat and an Enigma'esque background noise i.e. sounds like monks. The beginning does go on, but then the track is over 10 minutes long so it is going to rattle a bit. Anyway, I like the beat in this one and the background synths work really well; plus there are some nice noise brought into the fore which later form the main melody. It's after 6 minutes that you get the real thing and it's a tad disappointing. Why ? Well, it's a long wait for something that really could have done better. It's still good, very fresh and funky and puts across a good sound. Just something deep down inside of me was expecting something more.

Comments Now, this does rock a few feathers if I may say so. Very funky tune with all the mixes offering VERY different tracks. I love the old school sound (the 80's, not the recent shit) and this touches on some nice sounds. This version is much more of a dance offering and delivers a very nice feel and vibe, very much a club tune. The main anthem is very simple, but very sweet. A good beat, with a synth and some feeling; just what you want to get them toes tapping. I like this tune and the others, offers some excellent alternatives.

Comments This is one of my fave tunes at the moment because it delivers such a hard sound, but tempers it well. The beat really does go through you, so play this loud. The main anthem is just the beat, with some noise here and there and a slight change in tempo; but it sounds so good. The anthem is also long, not different; but long. You know when you are listening to a track and it's coming to what could be the end of the main melody, this does that; but then keeps going. If it's a hard beat you are looking for, look no further; this is it.

Comments I had to listen to this a few times before it grabbed my attention. The other mixes are pretty pointless, not doing much about anything. This is a kind of strange one as it's got quite a nice club beat and undertone, but then it goes into some weird loop of noise. This then ends and the tune goes a tad flat. The beat continues, but it just lost its intrigue that you had during the build up. This is OK, but one for that someone who is looking for something different.

Comments Now, I do like this not only because I like the artist; but the tune itself is quite superb. The beat is great and the build up to the main melody is quite brilliant. It's progressive, but with large chunks of different noise being added piece by piece. You then think it's going to go bang and off you go, but o; this still keeps it just right without overloading the senses. Plus, you think it's going to end and it keeps going. This is a fab tune and one that sounds even better when played really loud. A must have tune.

3/5 : Good
Artist Suncatcher & Adyjay
Comments Starts strong enough, but does go into a lull quite early on when it should be further warming up your ears. The main synth is quite a strange noise, a cross between ‘The Moog' and the old Casualty theme tune, if you all remember that far back ! The main melody is surprisingly quite uplifting, as the synth is complemented nicely by some very atmospheric background noise. The melody isn't that long, but the ending is on an upbeat with quite a funky drum piece. Not a jaw dropping tune, just a good one.

Comments I have listened to this tune a lot; it is an extremely atmospheric trancer and one that really does make me feel happier inside. It is very deceiving as the start is very slow, very progressive and very nice indeed. Lots of swirling noises and a sublime synth that just builds up, teasing your ears. The main melody doesn't explode on you, it just washes over and even now while typing this my body is tingling. It gets better; the melody is in two parts, with the second being different in terms of the synth; beautiful. This is just a great tune, sums up what trance and music is all about; just the music. An essential purchase.

Comments Well, the title of this track alone got me kind of interested. Have to admit to not being a huge fan of recent stuff by these two guys. That said, this one is pretty good. Bear with it, as the beginning sounds like the music of the classic film ‘The Warriors', you''' get my drift. It's a long tune, so there are two melodies, both very similar; but both equally as good. The melodies are both very uplifting, nothing too heavy; just chilled and funky. The more I listen to this the more I like it, the subtle tones and the simple beat; it's an early morning tune. A welcome back for The Signalrunners.

Comments I like tunes with an original sounding piano in and this has one of them, so I therefore like it. Takes a while to get going this, very slow build up; although not annoyingly slow. The main synth is introduced without any beat and it sounds really good, very piercing. The anthem itself is funky fresh, with a good beat and an up tempo synth. It doesn't change too much, but the sound that comes out works OK. It's not an essential purchase, but its well worth having a listen.

Comments Love the feel of this tune as right from the off it gets down to business, no fannying around. Solid beat and some really nice subtle under tones. It does slow down, but the main sound is introduced to you; which again sounds good; very much a club sound. The meat of the tune is just all the build up thrown together in one big lump of noise. As you get half way through a new noise is introduced which adds nicely to the tempo and changes things around nicely. There's two bites at the cherry as just when you thought it was going to fade out, it starts up again and that is what I really like in good tunes. A great tune.

Artist Armin van Buuren feat. Sharon Den Adel
Comments Don't normally like this guys stuff, far too commercial. This is still that, but it does have something that is quite catchy. The vocals work really well and with the main melody deliver quite a powerful sound, surprisingly. Ok, it's cheesy; but it does have a good feeling to it. I have to admit to liking this very loud in the car, it's a great driving record. Back on planet earth, OK; it's a not great tune, but it's an OK one.

Comments Very tribal this one and very mis-leading. Bit of a clunky start, but let this one play out. After a few minutes a seriously trance sound kicks in, very nice indeed and with the ambience in the background it sounds very nice. It then launches into a great sound, which at the beginning sounded very unlikely indeed. There's a strange catchphrase in between, nice touch. Great sound, very trance; very club like and very pleasing. The downer is that you think it's going to launch into another melody and it doesn't, if it had it would have been a true stunner.

Comments A strange tune this, a really subtle; but smooth track. Oddly enough, this isn't the main track from the EP; but it's better than ‘Rainbow Around the Sun'. As you'd expect from Shah-Music it's quite a mellow beach type track, so no disappointment there. It's odd as the noises are really cool and the beat is just pure mellow; but it sounds funkier than it should. The beat in places breaks out into a nice little funky tempo; which adds a nice bit of spice to proceedings. I like this; it's a calm track in a mad world.

Title City Lights Daniel Kandi Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Sundriver
Comments If you didn't know this was a Kandi remix, you would within about 30 seconds as it has all his trademark sounds. Quite a squeaky start in terms of the synth is very dominant and a bit in your face. However, once the melody kicks in things tone down a tad. Solid beat as you'd expect and a typical Kandi feel to things. The thing that gets me a tad is that it's nothing I haven't heard before. OK, the melody up tempo midway through to good effect; but it's typical Kandi. It's a tried and (over) tested formula so here's hoping there's something new in the tank for 2009. A solid enough tune none-the-less.

Title Sparkles Sean Truby Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Niklas Grosswald pres. Soundbite
Comments Lots of sound in this one, but it seems to get lost in itself a bit. Strong start which fades a bit, but when it stops for the obligatory pregnant pause a very nice beat line kicks in. It reminds me in places of a classic tune by BBE and then it brings itself up to date, works quite nicely. The main melody is nice and melodic, very euphoric and very uplifting. It sounds really good on the ears, very smooth beat and simple synths in the background. Good length, which as I (and the ladies) always say is a good thing ! It's a shame that the end is a bit vague and the beginning is a bit brash as the middle is really good.
