Title Amnesia Original Mix

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Nitrous Oxide
Comments You can't usually go too wrong with this artist and this is no exception. A good 10 minutes of solid trance this and not as hard as normal. Quite soft and subtle in places, but hard and pacey where it needs to be. Two good solid strong anthems, one slightly more upbeat than the other; which as ever works well. There's a small piano thrown in for good measure to up the beat that extra notch, again it works. The length works as well, I was worried it would drag; but there's enough under the hood to keep you going. Nice.

3/5 : Good
Artist Soliquid
Comments Slow to get going, but it does get there. The build up is quite plip and plop, the beat works and then it stops for a more synth'd up session. The beat here picks up quite nicely and there's a nice atmosphere introduced in the background. The melody is a good length and works lots of different sounds and feelings and to be honest, just delivers a sound. The slow start is a minor shame, but it's worth the wait for a good number.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Alan Delabie
Comments This sounded a lot better first time I heard it. I liked the rough sounding tribal vibe, a very minimalistic approach to the tune. It's kind of worn a bit thin on me now though. It's an OK tune, just lacking in real depth. A really hard and fast undertone would really lift this up. To be honest, that's all this needs. The tune is solid enough, nice synths and sounds throughout and as I said earlier the tribal feel is quite good. It just sounds weak compared to other tunes, which is a shame. It's only my opinion, so have a listen.

Artist Galen Behr vs. Hydroid
Comments You never know what you are going to get with these two, so I was a bit wary; but don't be. This is a great tune. Simple stuff, but I always say the basics work. Solid beat throughout and two very funky melodies. Both of these move really well and have that great vibe that gets them toes really taping. The first melody is quite short, more of a warm up. The second, has much more passion about it and really gets into your brain with it's cool feel. I just like this tune, not much more to say really; so buy it.

Title Dream on Barock Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Marc S
Comments Lots of potential in this tune. Has a really slow build up to the good stuff, but it's really passionate. Once you get there, it's a journey of sound that sounds very similar to the ‘Casualty' theme in places. This is really euphoric stuff that just pounds away at your senses. I like the way the melody drops a few tones towards the end, nice touch. The tune itself is a bit screechy, so turn the treble down a tad; one of its only downfalls. A good little tune this, slow to get going; but it gets there.

Title After the Sunrise Daniel Kandi Rising Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Amurai vs. Static Blue
Comments This starts nice and bouncy, with a lively beat and undertone. This has a very Static Blue feel to it, that typical happy trance sound that will go down well in any club. This starts well and hits a nice sounding melody quite early on; the later melody is longer and has more passion about it. Lots of noise, but it all works well together. A tad heavy on the treble, but nothing too overpowering. This sounds good in the car as the confined space works well with the track. A good tune, not much more I can say about it.

Title Dream On Original Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist John O'Callaghan pres. Mannix
Comments This is OK. A tad on the cheese side for my liking and not really the sort of tune I'd expect from O'Callaghan. It's OK, nothing offensive and the beat does flow really well; but it doesn't do too much. I'd be gutted to have bought this without hearing it as it does go around the houses a bit. The melody is OK, bit quite and non eventful and the sound around that is well, mediocre at best. Have a listen as it will appeal to a lot of people.

Title Finally D-Mark Reaching the Fall Remix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Angel Ace
Comments This guy generally produces good solid music and this is no exception. A hard pumping beat and bassline from the off. There's an introduction of a piano to calm things down a bit and some nice vocal synths in the background, all a nice ambience. The beat then kicks back in, with all the noises well blended. That said, this does suffer from being too long and not getting to the point. All the beat and bits are good, but there's no real content or drive; which is a real shame. The main anthem is nice and pacey, but there's not enough of it. A solid tune, but not a stunner by any means.
Label Ligaya Recordings : Released October 2007

Artist Dan Stone
Comments I have to admit that I went for this more because of the remixer than the artist and I'm glad I did. Pounding bass line as you would expect and that typical Nitrous Oxide feel and vibe. The synth cuts in fairly early and you know this is going to be good. The lull starts and the atmosphere is building. The various synths kick in and it starts to build nicely. This has all the trance elements you would come to expect in a good tune. It launches into a very euphoric piece of music which builds and builds. The end introduces a brilliant piano break which gives this the extra lift to make it stand out. A great tune this, not much really to say; so go have a listen and buy.

Artist Factoria
Comments I was wary of this as I've felt over the years the artist has lost his way a bit. I'm glad to report that this is much more like what I want, even the Vocal Mix. This has that twangy Factoria feel to it, but a much harder and deeper edge to it; which has been missing. The melody is quite dark, but with the main synth humming away; plus some nice subtle vocal type synths it moves really well. Then to up the pace an extra synth is thrown into the mix, giving it that all important lift. Two bites at this would have been good, but I can't want everything; or can I ?

Title Fatal Beauty Tragida Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Icone joins Arpegia
Comments I usually really like Icone, but of late his sound has been too samey. This kind of gets back on track. By that I mean the main anthem is really good. Very fast and full of energy. Has that real euphoric trance sound and feel to it. Steps up a level midway through giving it that extra edge and really delivers a sound. The build up I find is a tad sluggish and wanting and it's here this is let down. Many would probably turn off rather than wait. So, the melody is great; nice and long as well, just the build. That said, you take the hot with the cold.
Label Abora Recordings : Released October 2007

Title Close Quarters Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Frase
Comments A typical solid Frase tune. The beat pounds away and the tune builds on top, a classic style trance tune. Can't really moan about it, so I won't. I like this as it just delivers a good sound, which at times is all you want. The main melody is nice and long and has a good progressive build up. By that I mean the synths are introduced to give maximum effect and it works. The flip side to this ‘Dynanism' is also a solid tune, so between them there is almost certainly something you are going to like.
Label Eve Records (Promo) : Released October 2007

Title Mindscape Original Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Mantra
Comments I had to listen to this tune quite a few times to suss out if I liked it and I can't remember why. This is an OK tune, lots of noise and passion; all blended together rather nicely. Ok, there is a hint of cheese here; but nothing too wiffy. My gripe would be that the main melodies are rather short and there's too much of the ‘either side stuff', but it flows well and has a nice happy sound to it. Turn the treble down a bit as it's a bit heavy on the high end, but a good enough tune to warm you up.
Label Emotive Vibes : Released October 2007

Title White Moon Original Mix

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Solar Energy
Comments This is a cracking tune and one that grows on me more and more every time I listen to it. This is mellow, yet funky; quite blissful to be honest. Good beat throughout and a synth that runs in the background, upping the beat here and there. There's various other noises thrown in, but the whole thing just oozes Cafe del Mar. The main melody is just a funkier beat with more emphasis on the foreground synth, plus a few other bits. This is a great tune in the early hours, just chilling; nice.
Label Green Martian : Released October 2007

Title Piece of Mind Instrumental Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Adam White feat. Stacey Kitson
Comments I like this guy and this tune is an OK outing. The main anthem has a nice flute like synth throughout, which sounds good. The beat is OK and the general feel and movement is what I'd expect. There are two melodies, both similar with the later having that usual extra edge to it. Not sure about the vocal version, doesn't really blend to well. A tad slow on the start, but it's worth the wait as the sound is quite fresh and different. Don't expect fireworks, but you won't be bored.
