Title Carpe Diem Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Zehavi & Rand vs. Hydroid
Comments An unusual tune to what I'd normally expect from Hydroid, doesn't have that bell sound. The melodies are quite solid, lots of energy; but they are broken up by a strange sort of moog sound, which doesn't really work. This is different to the norm, which is good; but it's also a bit weird, which is weird ! Infuses acid with trance, just not how I would have done it.

Title Southern Cross Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Seven Senses
Comments Hhhmm, a fresh not complicated record. Simple beat with simple melodies and an even simpler glockenspiel ! This moves really well due to the synth progressing throughout and a nice underlying beat that accompanies well. The melody takes a while, but is soothing to say the least. Shame there isn't two as that would be extra cool, perhaps by shortening the beginning. I was pleasantly surprised with this one, so might you.

Title Deviation Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Emphased Reality
Comments I like this outfit as their sound is simple, but good. This has a good beat, which starts quite tribally and then builds nicely into nothing too complicated. There's a whistling synth throughout, which can get a bit irritating; but it works well in the melodies. There are two melodies, both of which are very similar. This is a nice happy tune that doesn't stun you with sound, but none the less is a pleasant one to listen to.

Title Carry Me Airbase Dub Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Talla 2XLC
Comments I'm not a huge fan of this artist and only got this tune because of the Airbase remixes. Unfortunately, they don't really do too much for this. It's an OK tune, bit drab in places, just doesn't really do it for me. The anthems are rather tame and stuff I've heard before and nothing really out of the ordinary happens. Try before you buy.
Label Technoclub Records : Released June 2006

Title Invisible Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Icone
Comments I had this back on promo in 2005, so good to see it get a release. This is another artist who you can rely on to produce good tunes. That said, this is surprisingly slow for him although still solid. Takes a while to get going and the first anthem is a nice taster for the one to come. Bit drawn out in between both of them, could have been a good minute shorter to keep it punchy. A nice tune, just a tad too long and needs a pit more clout in the anthems. Still a good tune from a good artist.

Title Breathe Sunny Lax Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Daniel Kandi
Comments A good tune, but too slow to get going; really lets this down. Why ? Well, jump near to the end and you will hear a wonderful sound of music that you may have missed if you'd have turned it off early on. Great sound this, but it's slow to get there and lets this down. Once it's moving it's a crescendo of sound that blends so well and sounds so good, so for that 10/10. The beginning is too drawn out, fix that and this would be truly special.

Title Aria Mark Lynch Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Mark Lynch
Comments Mark has been trying to break into the big time and with this sort of sound he deserves his break. It's the nice sample from ?Layer Cake? that leads into a really cool euphoric vocal that in turn is blessed with a hard sound. This continues for quite some time, with very little let up. You have to hear this loud to truly appreciate what Mark has done as it's only then you can hear all the different noises. This is a great tune and one wholly deserved of a signing to a label.

Title Show Me The Love Adam White Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Headstrong feat. Tiff Lacey
Comments Headstrong, aka Don, did the logo for this website ! He, like many others, was writing his own stuff trying to break into the market and then got picked up by the Matt Darey label. This isn't the best I've heard from him, but it's an OK tune. Good beat and the vocals actually work really well, just lacks a real punch. Just when you think it's going to take off, it sort of stays where it was. This is a mellow track that I like in the car on the way to work. Have a listen, especially to his other tunes.
Label Darey Products : Released June 2006

Title Samurai Original Mix

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Arizona vs. Suzy Solar
Comments There are times when you are drawn to a record and this is one of them times. This has one of the best beats I've hear this year, especially when it breaks down into a really cool hard drum roll. This in turn leads into a nice hard sounding tune, with a fast and pacey melody. This is very much produced around the drums and it works so well and sounds so refreshing. For the drums alone, this is a great purchase.

Title Edge of Space Whiteroom Remix

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Zirenz
Comments This has a good hard feel to it from the off and when it slows down and you get a wailing noise, you are kind of wondering what's coming. Well, this is a great tune with a fantastic uplifting feel in the melodies. When the extra synth kicks in, along with the wailing; it sounds quite breathtaking. Two melodies, with the second of the two slightly more up-tempo. The build up is a tad disappointing bearing in mind what you get at the end, but this is a top tune none the less.
Label Mondo Records (Promo) : Released June 2006

Title Thessa Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Versluis & Sande
Comments A typical Afterglow production, good hard trance. Very similar to most of this labels offerings which if you like the label is a good thing. Bit on the short side so there's only the one melody. This is hard and full of passion and feeling, but nothing outrageous. A tune that you will hear in the clubs and wonder what it was, but come the next day you won't really care too much.
Label Afterglow Digital : Released June 2006

Title Going Home Tenthu Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Static Blue
Comments Reminds me a bit of the old BBE classic this, in that piano is very similar. This group do some solid sounds, nothing ever really stunning; but always good value. I think the remixer, Tenthu; is very similar so putting the two together should produce a good tune. In this instance it does do OK. Bit slow to get going, needs a real punch to lift it and the slow down is quite severe. That said, I like the watery sound that starts the build up to the anthem. This doesn't really knock me for six, although it is a nice long one. Very simple beat and even simpler synth work, nothing really changes to lift the tempo; which would have worked well. This is a solid tune, but nothing overly special.
Label Alter Ego Digital : Released June 2006

Title Proglifter Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Cape Town
Comments This has got a great beat less intro that draws on the classic 90's sound, which is a great way to start any tune. The beat then works its way in and the tune starts to come together quite nicely indeed. This is a long tune and although that is something I generally like you run the danger of loosing the plot, fortunately this doesn't. Nice uplifting anthem that uses the synths really well and to very good effect. Nice vocally sounds also introduced midway to keep you interested. A great tune with lots of feeling and sound.
Label Camouflage Digital : Released June 2006

Title Cinema Ferry Tale Dedicated Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Cape Town
Comments A nice sound with a different clangy sort of feel to it. Not a real stomping club tune or one that you??'d expect to hear at the top of any DJs set, but an interesting tune nonetheless. It pauses in the middle and when the tune comes back it doesn??'t sound as fast as before, but it still delivers a nice simple beat and sound. A good EP all round.
Label Camouflage Digital : Released June 2006

Title Tabriz Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Kaveh Azizi pres. Rhythmia
Comments I love the feel to this, that tribal feel that is ?full of eastern promise?. This has a good solid beat and that wacky tribal noise that pops up now and then and I like it every time someone has a go. Bit slow at the beginning and has a really annoying stop, but that's soon forgotten. Bangs away nicely with it's unique sound. Does get a bit wacky in places, but it works for me and it is a breath of the fresh stuff.
