Title Meltdown Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Kuffdam & Plant
Comments Not too sure why I went with this as I don't think these artists? have really done much since Summer Dream. This starts horribly with a very pacey beat and then the main stuff is a very harsh sounding synth. Quite slow to deliver and when it does it's nothing truly outstanding. Fast beat with a very old sounding synth over the top, quite a retro feel to it. Nothing special, but someone out there will enjoy !

3/5 : Good
Artist Cygnus X
Comments Perhaps one of the best trance tunes ever ? This came form the days when trance was trance and there were only a few quality artists. Not knocking what we have now, but then it was very different. I have the original of this first time round, so had to get this version. It's the first time you hear 'that tune? in this that the hairs go. That said, this is quite dated and the remix doesn't really bring it up-to-date, but it was a bloody good try and was great to hear that tune again. Showing my age a bit !

Title Innuendo Ian Betts Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Sequentia
Comments This is OK. A very typical trance sound, nothing different. Feels very fast and has that club feel, bit frantic to be honest. Good if you are in the mood, but a brain strain if you aren't. There are two anthems, both near on identical. If you like your tunes fast and frantic, then look no further. I must have been in that sort of mood first time I heard this one !

Title Remembrance Original Club Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Satellite
Comments This is a nice tune. Moves well and has a nice easy flow. Quite bouncy in places, but that??'s down to the easy going synth. Nice simple beat, plus the synth make this a nice simple tune. It doesn??'t pound the senses or send them into overload, but it does a nice job in cheering me up in the car. That can??'t be a bad thing now can it.
Label Ligaya Recordings : Released October 2006

Title Northern Lakes Tenthu Sunset Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Ilka
Comments I really like this tune as it's got a nice mellow, yet club feel to it. Good beat that has a really nice piano playing with the odd echoing synths and vocals. Very much a beach tune, but again very much a club tune. This is different to the norm, which is what appeals to me. This isn't going to set the world on fire, but it's a good tune that has been well produced and thought about.
Label Bonzai Trance Progressive : Released October 2006

Title 92 Elements Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist David Forbes & Mallorca Lee
Comments Nice fresh sound here. Good beat with some nice roll ups, plus a simple synth to move it along. It has that anthem sound as well, the tune will stick in your head. All the elements that make up a solid club tune are here, although I felt it was tad slow to really get going. Once it does, good feelings all round. Nice.
Label Fenology Records (Promo) : Released October 2006

Title Cubu Kamil Polner Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

4/5
Artist Peter Dubs
Comments Anything by Kamil Polner I get, regardless of hearing it and this is no exception to the rule. Good hard beat with a nice spooky synth in the background, just to build up the atmosphere. This is a great trance tune, lots of feeling and lots of passion. Synths pop in and out at will, each time bringing a little extra something to the tune. Nothing to worry about with this tune, solid trance all round.
Label Reflected Recordings (Promo) : Released October 2006

Title By Your Side Icone Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Afternova
Comments Good label Trancetribe and a very good remixer in Icone. This has a slightly annoying squeaky synth, sounds very old fashioned; but that said you won't hear it too often. Not too sure what to make of this as sometimes I like and others I don't. SO, we'll plum for the middle and say it's an OK tune. The melody is nice and long, it's just the synth is a bit annoying. If it were toned down a tad and softened up, it would be so much better. Have a listen and see what you think as it has real potential.
Label Trancetribe Recordings : Released October 2006

Title Dark Eyes Funabashi pres. Tom Porcell Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Luminary
Comments Nice feel to this. Starts with a good solid beat and a synth throughout, which is nicely built upon with percussion and 'feeling'. The vocals work quite well here, not too over the top; just about right. The main anthems are nice and uplifting and bounce along in tune with the feel. The beat is solid throughout and has a well produced feel to it. A nice tune.
Label Solaris Recordings (Promo) : Released October 2006

Title Shipwrecked John O'Callaghan vs. Mike Foyle Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Mike Foyle
Comments Some really nice mixes here, from the club style Emery mix to the chilled JOC mix. I've plumbed for the JOC mix as it was the mood I was in. Very nice piano throughout and a cool melodic beat throughout. Nice and easy listening in the car in the morning. Not quite what I'd expect from JOC, but certainly very Foyle from the off. You will almost certainly find a mix of this that you'll like.
Label Armind (Promo) : Released October 2006

Title Reflection Oliver Leighs Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Activa pres. Force One
Comments A typical Activa feel to this. Nice solid beat with some good percussion work in the background. Tunes kicks in nicely and keeps pounding away for a while. Although I wouldn't say it was a melody at the end, it' constant and has a nice feel to it. Good solid trance tune that will have you taping your toes throughout. Sounds much quicker than it actually is which is cool.
Label Six:Thirty : Released October 2006

Title Carabella Galen Behr vs. Orjan Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Galen Behr vs. Hydroid
Comments Lots of productions with artist vs. artist and this was two artists I have time for, so was interested to see how the mix worked. Slow to get going, annoyingly slow as you think it's going to launch and it drags out even more. The anthem is OK, very Hydroid in that fresh feel; but nothing spectacular. Bearing in mind the wait, I was expecting a real treat that didn't materialise. The anthem is a good length, but doesn't really make your dick stand up like some tunes do. OK, but listen first.
Label Yakuza (Promo) : Released October 2006

Title Addictive Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Niklas Harding
Comments Reminds me of a Hydroid track this as it has that clanky bell type feel to it. Really slow to get going and this is further hampered by a droning noise, which sounds really drawn out. The main anthem is nice and funky and moves well, but also has the droning over it which is a real shame. I like the feel to this, but by the time it gets going it's time to stop. The anthem is nice and long and changes a few times, each time upping the tempo and feel. It's a shame about the intro being so long otherwise this would be so much better.
Label Armada : Released October 2006

Title Fade Away Icone Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Static Blue
Comments From the first minute this has a nice happy feeling. It's not hard and in your face, just nice and melodic; very Static Blue. The pause actually works as its very synth heavy and has that nice feeling that something will soon happen. It does, although not ground breaking; it sounds good. Solid beat with a synth throughout which is built upon with a few extra touches. The second anthem is really cool, great build up with a nice drum break. Lots of feeling here, but just a club tune; all be it a good one.
Label Amon Vision : Released October 2006

Title The Verdict Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Emery & Dedross pres. Wirefly
Comments A dark tribal feel to this, which makes a nice change. I find that Emery is usually great, or not so great and this sits in the middle ! This isn't going to blow you away as it's simply a trancey house tune. Good beat and a nice solid feel, but it takes a bit to get going. One it's there it works well and builds nicely, but is woefully short; especially as there is only one anthem. A good warm up tune perhaps.
