Title Sail Carl B's Without Hope Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Armin van Buuren
Comments One of the better ones I have heard from Armin, but perhaps that was the remixer. Some lousy versions of this, but Carl B gives it a nice extra bit of funk. Nice piano break here and there that add nicely to the ambience. Thumps away nicely with the main anthem being real pacey and full of passion. Bit slow in places and the build up gets a bit painful as you know there is something good coming. As said, for Armin this is a good release.

Title Flood Warning Original Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Altitude
Comments Strange sound to this. Starts with a solid enough beat, but then goes all moody on you. Starts to get quite euphoric, but then fades off into a whole lot of synths; which are a bit noisy. Kicks off into a whole lot of noise for a second stab at the chorus, which sounds OK; it's just too busy. Worth a listen, but perhaps not the best tune you'll find out there.

Title Till We Meet Again Galen Behr Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Galen Behr & Robert Burns
Comments This to me just sounds like the same old stuff that comes out all the time. OK, it's got a good beat and once it's moving has a nice euphoric feel to it, but I've heard it all before. The anthem doesn't really let rip either, which is a shame and where this falls down. A harder anthem with more clout and this would be a great tune.

Title Halcyon Kiss Six Senses Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Halcyon Kiss
Comments This is OK. Slow to get going and once it is, it's nothing you haven't heard a 100 times already. This is clearly aimed at the club market, but has something missing that would really make it stand out. Does get a bit busy in places, to the extent of sounding distorted. Have a listen, it's only my opinion.

Title Injection Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Hiroyuki Oda
Comments Lot of hype around this and rightly so. A great tune, fast and pacey and full of energy. Not sure why this is good, it just has that something about it that really delivers. The downside is that there is only one anthem here, which is really disappointing. Two would have been the bollox, but alas there be only one. That said a great tune that packs a real punch. The flip side ?Transmigration? ain't bad either.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Mind's Eye feat. Emphased Reality
Comments Short and sweet. Slow to get going and the chorus when you get there is sort of OK. Subtle I think is a good word with this tune. Very much on the progressive side, which I do enjoy; but I need a few carrots on the way to keep me going. The chorus is quite funky and is certainly nice and long, just missing that major punch to make this a good tune, rather than an OK one.

Title Out of Hand Robert Nickson Dub

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Misja Helsloot feat. Linn
Comments Slow to get going this, but then you'd expect that from the artist. That said, somewhat more funky than normal, but very progressive. Mr Nickson fortunately adds his touch and drags this up a bit, but this is nothing overly brilliant. Moves well and has a nice simple twang feel to it, but not much else. Have a listen as it may sound good to you, but for me it's a bit on the average side.

Title Sweet Deception Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Peter Dafnous
Comments Nice sound to this. Got a nice piano break in places, plus some nice subtle synth work as well. Got a couple of anthems thrown in for good measure and a nice funky feel. This isn't a real killer as it's all stuff you've heard before, but this is well produced and has that feel that someone has made an effort to make something nice. For that I can't complain and I'm not.

Title Gaia Frequency Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Skyform
Comments This isn't nowhere near as good as ?Infinte?; which is a shame as that was one blinding tune. This is still good though, so do have a listen. Starts quite slowly, but it has that undertone that promises that something is coming. Good club feel to this, has that euphoric trance noise about it. The anthem is solid enough. Nice feel, moves well and has a nice build up of noise. Shame there's only one.

Title Jabberwock Duende Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Skyscraper
Comments I remember this when it came out back in 1999, so was curious why such an old tune was getting a remix. Well, it works quite well. This is nicely freshened up to a nice and pleasant number. Has a nice summer feel to it when played loud. Simple percussion and simple synths make a nice simple tune. Good one to warm you up before you go out and put you in a nice happy mood.

Title Explorations Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Carl B
Comments For Carl B this is quite a disappointing E.P. Slow to get going, all be it quite tantalising. Once you get to the start of the good stuff, even that is a bit stop start. The chorus itself is nothing to go mad about, although it does sound OK. Quite simple in that there's a bouncy beat with a simple trance sound over the top. It doesn't change too much, except to take away some of what's going on in the background. There is two bites at the good stuff, which makes up for all the other shortfalls. Carl can't be perfect all the time.
Label Somatic Sense : Released March 2006

Title Backlash A98 Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Jussi Soro
Comments Different feel to this. Quite hard in places, but with a subtle sound as well. Beginning is quite in your face, but this calms down as the tune progresses. This is a bit of a brain bender and in places is really noisy and quite at it. Not too sure, sometimes I hear this and really like it and others it really winds me up. Worth a listen to decide for yourself.

Title Dark Horizon Aurosonic Remix

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Tenthu
Comments All the mixes of this are good, so there's a big plus straight away. From the off this has a real purposeful sound about it and the underlying piano break is quite superb. This has a really cool intro, which almost sounds like the main; but this fades. Another good intro into the good stuff, which is a solid beat and cool sounding synth. This builds up to a fantastic crescendo of sound, but not too manic; just right. It's a shame it's not longer, but as far as a 12? goes; you won't go wrong with this one.
Label Flux Delux Digital : Released March 2006

Title Arctic Circle Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Underwater vs. Mane
Comments Slow and chilled to start. Nice beat with lots of mellow sounds going on, almost like a Chicane track; but faster; if that makes any sense at all. Takes a good 5 minutes to get going, but once you get there it has that refreshing feel to it. Nice beat and the soothing ?vocals? wash around the place nicely. A second anthem would have been nice, although the one that we have is nice and long. A cool and soothing tune.
Label Spectrum Records : Released March 2006

Title Now & Forever Mystery Islands Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Brisky
Comments Pounding beat from the off. I like Brisky so to get a Mystery Islands remix was a real plus and a worthwhile one at that. You can hear the MI influence from the beginning, which I still think sounds fresh and new now. Two bites at the cherry, both very similar; both pounding away. Gets quite euphoric and frantic, with the melody really getting into your brain. It is a bit samey and could have done with some different noise here and there to break it up. That doesn't detract from a solid club tune.
