Artist Hemstock & Jennings
Comments A real passionate tune this, bit like the title. Lots of feeling and very much on the euphoric tip. The odd vocals dropping in saying ?behold? works well and it's the first time you here this that the tune really kicks in. Very short and there's only one bite at the main crux of this and that is also a bit on the short side. Enjoy this for what it is as it's a good tune, just short.

Comments This is a very good tune and before I say more, go buy it. This is a tune that I could listen to over and over and never get bored with it. This is just sublime in a big way. I like simple tracks and this is just that. A great beat, simple percussions and an awesome synth over the top. This is all wrapped together in once long mirage of sound. The chorus is very long and gets more and more atmospheric the longer it goes on. Even when it starts to chill the synths are working the senses down. I'm gutted every time this ends. Brilliant.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist DJ Tab
Comments This has a nice flow to it, very simple and very happy. Nice solid beat with a good twangy sounding noise, almost a piano I suppose. This is almost throughout the entire tracks and is accompanied by varying degrees of noise and beats to lift the tune as it goes through. It doesn't really change enough for my liking and the main anthem is fairly long, but not varied enough. An OK tune, but there are better offerings out there.

Comments Somatic Sense are fastly becoming one of the leading trance labels out there because the majority of the tunes that come out of the stable are good quality ones. This is no different. A nice happy bouncy track that reminds me of days long gone. This is a beach tune as it just has that good summer feeling to it. It's nothing too out of the ordinary, but it has a good beat and the main theme is a sort of mellowed out piano; which sounds really nice. Two uplifting bits, so you get that happy feel good factor twice; works well.

Title Journey to the Unknown Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Sunquest
Comments Well, this certainly has a very euphoric beat less start; a mixers dream for some ! A progressive trance number that doesn't go overboard on the progressive side, but works well with what it has. There's a nice piano break thrown in for good measure in places, which I really like. Got some crazy sounds going on in the background as well, which again just add to the atmosphere. You are sort of left wondering when this tune will start as it does fade in and out quite a bit, but don't give up on it as each time it comes back it has a different vibe. This sounds nice when it's gotten over the slow stuff. Good and solid, just nice. This also has ?Final Hope? on the flip side, which is equally as good and make a nice double.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Alex MORPH pres. Everest
Comments I do find that this artist blows hot and cold and this ort of sits in between. Starts with a good pounding beat and you think you have a great tune on your hands. You have until it pauses and does this a few times. It's not a complete show stopper, but it does slow things down quite a bit. It's slow to get going, but once it is the tune moves really well and has a nice passion about it. Shame there is only one bite at the cherry, otherwise that would have made up for the slow start. A good club tune, although the vocal version is quite awful.

Artist Coldplay
Comments Although I admire Coldplay as artists, I would generally not be buying their stuff. This on the other hand is quite a tune; in fact it is quite a brilliant tune. Takes the very familiar theme and funks it right up. This works really well, unlike the ?b? side of Orbital's ?Chime?. Moves well and has a really good happy feel to it. This is one of them that you will here and will want, but not know what it is; how bloody annoying that is. Available on white label at the mo, get a copy if you can find it. Superb.

Artist Hammer & Bennett
Comments This is a wee bit on the slow side to get going. OK, I know this is very progressive; but it could get going sooner. The beat is solid and it has a good house feel once the beat is in full flow. The main chorus is quite long and has a nice pipe noise throughout, which mellows it out quite a bit. There's also a nice heavy underlying bass to this one, which you don't really here until the end. The ending is a bit drawn out, but the beat does keep going. A solid progressive tune, all be it a bit slow on the up.

Title A Place Called Home Passiva Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist JPL
Comments A good solid tune this with Passiva really making the difference (although I can't quite see the difference in both their mixes). The beat is solid and there is a really cool background noise, plus the main theme. This in turn is built upon very nicely into a very long main chorus. The beat just seems to get a bit harder and there is more emphasis on the main noise. This works really well and doesn't drag out like many others. The ending is a bit sudden, which actually works for me rather than having a few minutes of no point. Long intro lets this down, but a good tune.

Title Love Theme Dusk Signalrunner's Sunrise Mix

Artist Mike Foyle vs. Signalrunners
Comments This is a seriously happy tune, the piano alone will make you smile big time. The main them is basically a piano with a cool sounding broken up synth behind it, just adding that bit more uumph to proceedings. This moves really well and where a normal tune would stop this just keeps going and changes the tone of the tune; really nice. You'd be very hard pressed to fault this tune and not only is the good bit very long, but the ending is quite pacey as well. Perhaps a bit cheesy for some, but a welcome breath of fresh air for me. Hunt this one down.

Comments A quality tune on a quality label. I love the build up to the main theme, sounds very epic and purposeful. The drum work in this tune it what really makes the difference, especially the stop / start bits. The main theme sounds really epic and very much what I want to hear at peak times in a club. Nothing too much, just enough to get the senses buzzing. I just really like this tune, there's nothing bad about it. This delivers a good and fresh sound that you will like, I do !

Comments Wow, this is certainly different. I love the African chanting in this, you can't go wrong in my opinion. Chanting throughout, backed up by a solid funky beat and a rather odd twanging sort of synth. This is just a happy tune that will make you smile and make them troubles feel not so troubling. I like this a lot and play it a lot, especially on the way to work. It's quite a simple tune, but very effective. Well worth a purchase.
Label Five AM : Released July 2005

Title Genesis Genix Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Dreas vs. Enrapture
Comments This is a bit of a bland tune in places as it does drag a bit. There is some very nice drum work that leads up to the main theme and this itself moves quite nicely. Not too sure on the noise that's the main element, it's a bit of a guitar; but funked up. I do like the beat in between the various elements, it works really well. This is OK, it's nothing overly special; but then it doesn't stink either. There are two themes, both of which move with pace and have a nice club feel to them. There is something about this that I don't like, but I just can't put my finger on it. Have a listen and make up your own mind.
Label TR Recordings (Promo) : Released July 2005

Title Insecurity Koris vs. Djule Dub Mix

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Pink Flood feat. Sun
Comments Pink Flood, aka Shane 54, what a strange name. I must say all the hype was about the Shane 54 mix, which I think is awful. I don't know who Koris or Djule are, but they add a rather different electro feel to this. A very simple casio type beat with a nice moody feel underneath. Then there's a really nice bamboo type sound which bounces along nicely with a new and funky feel to it. The tune changes quite a bit and there are quite a few different synths throughout, which is what makes this so appealing. The electro voice over's are quite weird, but this is just something very different.

Title Halcyon Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Andy Moor
Comments I'm a big fan of Andy Moor as the majority of his stuff is well produced and has the right sound to it. This has a nice feel to it, with some equally nice broken up vocals. This is a bit slow on the up and doesn't really kick in with any real impact. Yes, it's a got a good beat and moves well; but it doesn't have that cutting Andy Moor edge. Late on there's a nice synth bit which goes well, but it should have been much earlier. A good tune, but a bit average.
