Title Distance Fractal Structure Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Filo & Peri pres. Taxi
Comments There's two very good remixers on this 12? and Fractal just shade it over Will Holland. Bit slow to get going, but then the beats picks up with a nice underbeat. The main theme bounces around throughout and cuts in and out; it's basically a simple synth that sounds like it's been cut in places. The good bit is OK, nothing special as you will have heard most of it before you get there. The ?in your face? synth is overused; which is a shame. There are no real guts in this, it's clearly a knocked up tune for the clubs. That's said, it isn't a bad tune; just with the quality of the artists / remixers it should have been better.

Title Invisible Dub Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Icone feat. Lost Spirit
Comments Icone are a good up and coming crowd, with some good tunes under their belt. This is no exception, but this is a tad on the slowish side. Once the beat is flowing there's a nice euphoric triumphant feel to it and the main theme has two different feels. It starts fairly simple, but the introduction of a synth half way through works well. There are two anthems in this, both of which sound different. This is a really good tune, but the middle bits are a bit sluggish and it's slow to get going. The themes, especially the second one; are very good; so have a listen.

Title Beautiful Marc Mitchell Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Orkidea
Comments This fella is popping up quite a bit lately and I'm surprised why. This has a good beat and feel to it, although it takes a while. Once it starts to get going, there are some nice samples from Star Wars; which sound really good. The main tune is nice and bouncy, with a cheesy piano sort of sound in the background. Fluffy would be a good word to describe this. I'm a bit mixed on this as in the morning it sounds great, but I'm not sure about as a main time club tune.

Title Shiver John O'Callaghan Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Agnelli & Nelson
Comments Haven't heard these guys in ages, so to get a tune remixed by John O?Callaghan was a real treat. This is a good tune and the male vocals work really well. The main theme is very uplifting and has a really cool noise to it that is very much on the epic scale. The theme also changes halfway through with the introduction of another uplifting synth that ever so slightly changes the tempo. This works really well and to be honest sounds very much what you'd expect from the artist. There are also 2 themes, both of a nice length; which I really enjoy.

Title In the End Santiago Nino & Hydroid Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Ava Mea
Comments This is quite a moody progressive tune, very much from the Hydroid camp. Has that electronic feel to it, plus the moody beat and the somewhat odd techie sounding noise. Does drag a bit, but it's consistent throughout which is good. The second theme is funked up by a different more trance type synth, which is nice as it does breathe some life into this. I like my progressive stuff and I like this, it's just a bit moody.
Label Electronic Elements : Released August 2005

Title Requiem DJ Orkidea's Rhythm Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist DJ Orkidea
Comments From the off this sounds like the epic music you'd find in a badly dubbed martial arts film. This is a very epic and very different. Stops throughout with chanting and talks and then you get the oboe instrument thrown down. Not sure when you'd play this as it's such a weird record. This is such a nice chilled tune, that doesn't sound like anything I've got in my collection. It's different and I like the feel of it.

Title Shimmer Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Ian Betts & Ollie Leighs pres. Ayana
Comments I actually got this for the Inertia Mix, but the Original was far superior. Starts of a real pounder, but fades a bit before starting again. The pause is quite nice. There's just a synth which is built upon with other synths until the beat kicks in, this works really well and gets the anticipation going. It's anticipation that isn't let down, this sounds really good. Gets going strongly and has a real epic uplifting vibe, which is something I really like. The theme also keeps going rather than stopping and then going again, which makes up for the intro. Check this out.

Title Sweet Moonlight Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Fred Baker pres. Iguana
Comments This is a nice happy clappy sort of tune. Moves along to a nice simple beat and also a very simple synth. Takes a bit to get into full flow and when it does the chorus is well, simple. Doesn't exactly jump out at you as an awesome sound, but it's a nice sound. Good sort of calm down music, which is backed up by the flipside ?Beautiful Sunshine?. Another good outing from Mr Baker, different from his usual hard club sound.

Title Blue Tubes Ava Mea Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Hydroid
Comments This is a typical smooth melodic progressive house number from Hydroid. The Ava Mea treatment isn't that obvious as I find both artists are very similar in style. I like the background noise that goes on here, it's quite wild and different. There are also some nice ways in which the breaks are broken up, weird noises and different drum beats. The middle is a bit spacey for my liking and does un-necessarily slow the tune down. The second break sounds really nice and one that I particularly enjoy nice and loud. The build up is a bit slap dash, but do have a listen.
Label Selective Progressive : Released August 2005

Title Sole Survivor Sebastian Sand Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Ronski Speed & Sebastian Sand
Comments Well, for a Ronski Speed tune this is very mellow. This is more of the York style, so was surprised when it wasn't. That aside, it's a bit dreary; like York. Both mixes are very similar, but the Sand mix just edges it in that it's a bit beatier. This is OK, much more of a chilled tune which you would hear late on in the evening. It's well produced and sounds good, not much noise clashing; just a nice beach sound. It's not epic, but it's nice chilled music.
Label Euphonic : Released August 2005

Title Eastern Sea Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

Artist Solar Stone
Comments You just never know what you are going to get with Solar Stone, either a pacey dance number or something rather chilled out. This is sort of a hybrid of the two. It has a good pacey beat, but a somewhat mellow piano break. It works well. There is a very ocean sort of feel and the piano sounds nice along with the beat. It doesn't change too much, but the beat in places does sound like it has more emphasis. There are two choruses as well, which are well knitted together by some nice break beats. Different.
Label White Label : Released August 2005

Title Overrated Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Alucard
Comments This is a very typical Alucard tune. Has quite a moody feel, but a very good progressive beat. This is quite pacey and I like the way the drums just flow into each other, plus the echoing vocals in the background. This typically goes into a very trippy sounding number with the sparsest of sounds, very Orb. This in turn builds back into the main sound. For me, this is a bit on the downside for too long. There are moments when it perks up but not enough. One for the real progressive purists.
Label Somatic Sense Future : Released August 2005

Title Daybreaker Signum Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Kenny Hayes
Comments I'm amazed it took so long to release this tune, with the Original being featured back in July 2004. In my opinion the Original is by far the best version of this, but Signum does an OK job. I do however feel that this looses a lot of the tune by it's constant stopping for no particular reason. The lack of the chorus is also really annoying, with you thinking it's about to come and it doesn't. The Original is on this release, so for that alone.
Label Turbulence Records : Released August 2005

Title Radiate Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist DJ Tab
Comments This has quite a spacey feel to it; I think it's the synth that sounds a bit futuristic. Nice touches in places of a flute of some sorts ?piping? up. The vocals are a bit weird, just the odd splattering here and there. These actually sound quite good and in place with the rest of the tune. This flows really well and just sounds good. It's nothing overly in your face, but the whole feel and touches here and there make this a nice special little number.
Label Anjunabeats : Released August 2005

Title Waterworld Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Grenz & Filmore
Comments I originally bought this because of the Mystery Islands mix, but the Original is so much better. This is a happy tune, it just has that feel. A big crescendo of sound building up to that something with a nice typical beat. There's a really good piano break, which is something I always like. This is nicely blended into the main chorus along with some faint, but distinctive, angelic vocals. This is another great tune that flows well and has enough passion to have you coming back for more.
