Title Tundra Original Mix

Artist Menno de Jong
Comments This has really wonderful feel to it. The piece at the beginning which has just the synth on it's own with the wind in the background is quite sublime. The main chorus bounds along so smoothly, it hurts. The whole background noises and piano work just sounds really good and more importantly different. The way the sound is ever so slightly shortened to give it that extra kick is really cool. Simple things make me tick. Shame it's not longer and that the themes aren't longer, otherwise I'd be in tissue territory.

Title Blossom Haylon Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Summer Sessions feat. Michelle Smith
Comments Like the label, like the tune. I must admit that the title / artists did put me off a bit, sounded a bit too flowery. Good solid beat that is from the start, means business. Nice bit of haunting synth work in the background makes it sound quite eerie. The main anthem is a nice club sounding number. Bit samey, but it bounces along nicely and has some nice extra synths going off. The good bit is also quite long and not broken up, which is a nice plus.

3/5 : Good
Artist Tom Porcell
Comments Hot from ?Final Cut?, Mr Porcell lays down yet another good quality tune. I don't quite get the vocals; they truly add nothing to this at all. The main theme is really good, very pacey and full of feeling. Uses a really screechy sound that gets right in your face. Two cracks at the good stuff, but neither change which is quite disappointing. Takes a while to get going as well, but this is still a good tune.

Artist 2 Rome
Comments This is a real chilled tune that has a wonderful feel to it. Very euphoric and very mellow at that. Simple beat and simple synths, with lots of melodies going on; nice. When it goes, the tempo feels slightly uplifted; but that doesn't really matter. Lots of really euphoric synths cut in, plus a nice piano break just to add to the whole feel. Shame this isn't longer, it would be truly wonderful then.

Comments This just goes to show yet again what the ?bedroom DJ? is capable of. So much so, that Mark has even managed to get played on Radio 1 and in Dave Pearce's chart; not bad at all. Deserved credit as well as this is a great little number. It's always nice that a trance fan creates a tune as they know what to put in it. Good pulsating beat and a nice bit of synth work that adds that extra bit of energy. Two nice long anthems in the middle, both of which change tempo midway to change it up a bit. This is very much a club tune and one that I would welcome hearing out and about and more importantly very loud. Support the artist and buy the track !

Title Flashback George Hales Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Aled Mann
Comments This works for me. I like Hales as a producer and remixer so knew this would be a solid trance number and it is. Beat moves well and the vibe is strong with a nice touch of ?eerie noise? in places. Doesn't change tempo wise too much and once you've heard the first half, you pretty much know the second. That aside, a good solid tune that is worth a listen.

Title Starfighter Jonas Steur Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Haylon
Comments Lot of hype around this for some strange reason. This is a very slow sort of tune. It starts OK, but soon just turns into an acoustic number with a nice synth twanging around. This is built upon by some very euphoric noises and subsequently into a nice little number. It does sound a tad on the spaced out side as the synths go quite mad as this progresses. Sounds almost depressing in places, such is the tone. It's a nice feel though, sounds good on the ears and is very relaxing. The progressive build up of noise at the end is very good; you have to listen carefully to fully appreciate what is happening. A strange on, but one I like.

Title Nostalgia Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Sonicvibe
Comments Nice powerful angelic intro on this, which is nice and different. In fact, this is a very powerful tune that really rams a solid vibe in your ears. This is real euphoric trance, with a hard edge. Pounding sound that delivers a good vibe, plus the angelic bits which sound really good. This falls foul in that it's not long enough and there's only one anthem, otherwise this would have truly been a stunner.

Title Spiral Story Menno de Jong Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Spiral Story
Comments This is very typical Menno de Jong, not sure if the artist is MdJ; but as far as the feel goes. A nice happy tune that has a really cool anthem in the middle with a really cool sounding tune. Good build up, good anthem; not two of them. This moves well and the feeling is good, but the lack of long good stuff disappoints. This really needed two vibes as the first one was so good and you feel almost betrayed at not having a second chance. Good, but lacking.

Comments Everyone rated the Adam Sheridan Remix which I think is pants compared to the Original. A pacey tune that has some real funky beats. The distorted child voice sounds excellent and really lifts this tune. Once it's in full flow, the vibe and feel makes the old hairs tingle. Play this loud, you'll see what I mean. Nice long anthems, with a piano thrown in for good measure; very nice. My grips, only one anthem. Two would have been awesome; but for now this is just bloody great.

Title Difference Original Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Binary Finary & Jose Amnesia pres. Cloudbreak
Comments Two great artists and a tune I forgot I had. That said, this tune offers so much, but just doesn't deliver the killer blow. Nice rhythm and beat, but it stops when it should have been kicking out a killer tune. The tune actually gets quite lame towards the end, especially when the main anthem kicks in. Just doesn't do it, seems to slow down quite a bit. It's quite chilled and melodic, but not as the tune started out.

Title Attention Steve Birch Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist John 00 Fleming vs. Christopher Lawrence
Comments This is a real pounder of a tune. There are some nice acid type sounds in the background and the build up is quite pacey and has that feel of urgency about it. Not a huge amount happens; it's just the pounding beat that just keeps going. Then it just stops and says it has your attention and you expect an avalanche to happen, which doesn't. Well it sort of does, but not as quickly as you would hope. This is very much more on the progressive tip as the build up work is very good, it's just the pace puts it quite firmly into the trance camp. It's a long one so you do have to bear with it as each segment is slightly different to the other. It's a weird mix which does and doesn't work.

Title Majestic Arizona vs. Passiva Remix

Artist Sayla
Comments I like the remixers of this track, so was expecting quite a funky progressive number. What is delivered is a rather funky trance number. There's a really cool build up at the beginning which culminates in a very euphoric feel or several different synths. The beat is solid enough and there's a nice background vibe going on which just ups the pace a little bit. The main theme is very powerful and in your face, although when in full flow it does stop momentarily; which is odd. This is soon put right with a full on assault on your ears, very nice.

Title The Spell Cressida Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Volition
Comments Somatic Sense are quietly churning out some real good stuff, with Cressida turning up more and more on not just the Somatic label. This is very much a tune of 2 halves and it's not until the second half that this gets any good. This is where Cressida takeover, similar to the vampires appearing in ?Dusk til Dawn?. The tune then takes a nice turn into a solid trance tune with a nice feel to it. Don't get me wrong it isn't that bad leading up to this; it's just way too slow and doesn't grab me by the balls. Unfortunately the good vibe doesn't last forever, which is a shame.

Title Ocean Rain Original Mix

Artist Elevation
Comments Good artist for quality progressive house tunes. This is no exception to that rule. A nice solid beat and a really good undertone of a bass. Throughout this has a nice happy feel to it and the main tunes have a cool piano anthem, which I like. It doesn't really slow down at all, just keeps on going. In fact, this has a sort of moody edge to it; which sounds good. This isn't a particular fantastic tune, but it's a good tune that is well worth a listen.
