Title Severance Markus Schulz vs. Elevation Remix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Eluna
Comments A very progressive number, but what do you expect from the remixers ? This has a strange feel to it; the synths are almost like bells; which in places is quite eerie. There's a real in your face noise that you aren't expecting, which does change the track quite a bit and wakes you up in the process. It's a bit on the slow side for me, although early mornings work OK. This isn't an overly samey record as there are lots of different noise changes; just a bit slow.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist MIDOR & Six4Eight
Comments This is OK, bit samey for my liking. Both themes sound the same, no real deviation from the previous. The beat is good and there's a solid feel to this, but not much else. These guys are usually pretty good, but this along with the flip side ?Cloud City 2005? is one of the weaker tunes I've heard them produce. It's a good club number, just lacks some real pulsating guts.

Title Breathing Trnz Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist MIDOR vs. Linn
Comments This is a different sort of tune for MIDOR, with the Prgz Mix being quite moody and out of character; hence I prefer the Trnz Mix. This is a fairly bland mix as well to be honest; it's a bit slow on the up and once it's moving doesn't really offer anything overly stunning. The tune is fairly average in that it bashes out a sound without much else. It's also a short track, which again is something I don't really like. This artist blows hot and cold, this is tepid.

3/5 : Good
Artist Nu NRG
Comments Emery vs Brisky aie, can't really go too wrong and this doesn't. Nice and fast, but not enough that your arms and legs will get tired. This moves well and the main theme is a very triumphant sounding affair. At the end of this, it breaks into a different sort of sound with a piano bounding out and a much more pacey drumbeat. This sounds really good and totally not expected. It's a shame there's not two bashes at the good stuff, but what you have is sufficiently long enough to get you going.

Comments There seems to be a spate of little piano tunes at the moment, which is great. This is a very euphoric tune, lots of feeling and passion. It gets down to business very quickly and has a great feeling throughout. It also changes the feel and tempo half way through, almost introducing a different tune all together. This together with the great beginning makes a really good tune that flows really well and is very pleasing on the ears. Some nice breaks throughout as well. Fred at his best again.

Title Like the Sun Andre Pascal Remix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Trinity
Comments This has a Lost Witness vs. Sassot mix, which is what I got this for. Like so many times before, I then prefer a different mix. That said, I'm still not wholly convinced by this version either, it's a tad cheesy for me. This is one for the charts I think as it has that irritating happy happy feel to it that chart people like. It's an OK tune, just not quite hard enough and a bit too fluffy.

Comments I love the beginning of this. It gets all down and funky when you are not expecting it, which just sounds so cool. A great sounding tune that works on subtle noises in the background. The foreground has a great beat and nice simplicity, but it's the background that has just little noises here and there that I like. You then get quite a hard sound, which is a bit out of the blue; but again it all works very nicely. Got a real feeling of urgency and purpose and it just flows really well. A very good tune and one that I'm playing a lot.

Title Vrantique Original Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist e-Love
Comments This has a weird techno feel to it, probably in the synth that is throughout. Good beat that rolls along nicely, with a subtle noise going on in the background. It then goes all quiet and you get that feeling that it's going to explode on you. The harder edge also comes out, in what I can only describe as euphoric; but hard ! This takes a while to get going and eventually turns into a fairly average tune. Has that hard edge, but a fairly simple beat. Doesn't change too much except for the odd noises here and there, which is disappointing.

Comments This has a nice trancey feel to it, but is very long winded to get on with proceedings. Once it does, it's a solid club tune with a nice euphoric background. Not a particular stunning tune in that what you hear is what you get. The main anthem does change tempo midway which is pleasing, but apart from that it just delivers a nice sound. The vocals are a waste of time and irritate if anything. Nice long anthem, which works well and has a good feel to it. A good tune.

Artist Peak vs. JPL
Comments This is a very refreshing tune, don't ask me why; it just is. Nice pacey beat that is throughout and really lifts this along during the 'slower? sections. Even though there is only one anthem, the ending is quite different from the rest and almost makes up for this. I like this as it has a nice refreshing sound and feel to it, different to the usual stuff. Good vibe, good movement, good tune.

Title Distant Dreams Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Nautical Imagery
Comments This is a nice tune, nothing brilliant; just nice. Has a watery noise throughout, plus a synth to balance the two off. Beat moves well and the tempo changes now and again to keep you interested. It is a bit on the samey side in that once you have heard the first half, you have heard the second. That shouldn't detract from a good tune with an Alex MORPH Remix on the flip side, which I personally think is a bit on the drab side.
Label Enhanced Recordings : Released October 2005

Title Black Wood Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Solid Globe
Comments This is a tad disappointing, I was expecting much better from this EP. The flip side, Crystal Waters, is a much more moody affair whereas Black Wood is a bit more dancey. That said with the artists involved I was expecting a real stormer. Don't get me wrong, this is an ample tune that has a nice rhythm to it and nice subtle noises throughout. It's not too much in your face and as a warm number it'll work, just not peak stuff. I'm in two minds, one minute I'm taping my feet the next I'm fast forwarding.
Label Fundamental Recordings : Released October 2005

Title Skyline Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Kuffdam & Plant
Comments I must say that both this and the Ian Betts Remix are very good. I prefer the original as it has that familiar tribal feel that I like from K&P. That doesn't last long as this has a really hard and powerful beat to it. Good epic trance feel to this, although the build up is a bit haphazard. Pounds alomg at a good pace and sounds good, although at times it gets a bit confusing as to what is going on. A good investment, for both mixes.
Label Six Thirty Records : Released October 2005

Title Varekai Alt+F4 Blue Screen Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Kenneth Thomas & Mike Skye
Comments Haven't a clue what the title means, odd one. This is a nice bounce along tune with a nice main noise that is straight from the off. The beat is solid and there's a nice synth that soothes it all quite nicely. The pause goes almost Oriental in sound, which breaks it all up. It's at this point that everything comes together and the sound works really well. A well balanced tune that doesn't exactly punch you in the face, but at 3am when you need a bit of calming down this will work wonders.

Title Skyline Arizona Mix

Artist Stenna
Comments I like the way this starts with an almost introduction to a nice euphoric noise, with a good thumping beat underneath it. This in turn moves straight into a good trance sound, which teases as it slows down a bit. The start makes up for this as you know that something is going to hit your senses soon enough. The whole feel for this is really good, with a great drum break in the middle; just holding it all together. The second chorus is much more euphoric and has a cool wind effect going on. All in all a very good tune.
