3/5 : Good
Artist Digital Blues
Comments Chilled out would be a good phrase to describe this as it barely breaks a sweat. A very cool and steady beat with a nice ?watery? feel to it throughout. Doesn't really go mad or drown your sense in bass, just a nice simple percussion and that synth. I say ?watery?, there is also a subtle oriental element which works well in breaking the tune up. It's a shame that the tune is so long yet there isn't much on the main theme going on. The beat isn't that monotonous, but after a while it does tire a bit. A good tune and one that is certainly different to other stuff on the market.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Ridgewalkers feat. El
Comments Blimey, how mixes of this has there been and finally one that in my opinion is half decent. That said this isn't brilliant, it's just one of the better offerings. This is slow to get going and you are teased about what is coming, but it does seem to take a while. This is annoying as you know the lyrics and the feel, so why does this drag it's feet ? Once it is going, it then goes and stops completely ruining the moment. This is just plain OK.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Filo & Peri meet Mike Foyle
Comments This is an OK tune. Comes across as a bit of a depressing tune and it plods along and has a subdued piano type sound going on. This version is very similar to the Signalrunners mix, although this is a bit more lively ! The beat is OK, but not a lot happens. It's a shame as these are two very good artists, but on this collaboration it's more wrist slitting that epic trance.

Title Myst Hydroid & Santiago Nino Remix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Perry O'Neil
Comments I must admit to being somewhat curious about this one. O?Neil is usually known for his more progressive stuff, so with Hydroid doing a remix; curious. I'm not sure it works too well. A nice beat, but the main noise is a bit too twangy and echoic for my liking. There's a sort of industrial feel to this and one that sounds quite repetitive, which can at times get frustrating. Quite a bit of stop start with no real push to get this going. It's not a great tune, but you never know; you might like it.

Title Arcadia Ozgur Can Remix

1/5 : Poor
Artist Gabriel & Dresden
Comments A somewhat strange effort and a somewhat disappointing one. Very dull tune that just doesn't get off the ground, which is surprising for the artist. This plods along quite happily with a rather repetetive bassline and a very annoying laser sort of sound. There are times in the middle where it sounds like it is picking up, but alas it just fades away into nothing. Very disappointing.
Label Organized Nature : Released April 2005

Title Owner of a Lonely Heart Club Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Max Graham vs. Yes
Comments A strange tune this one. I was a bit curious to see what Max Graham was doing going near old tunes, although that does seem to be the thing to do these days. This is OK and is a happy tune that moves along well. Expect to hear this at the beginning of a set as it is a bit cheesey and not really a great club number. It works well and sounds good, but nothing brilliant.
Label Data Records : Released April 2005

Title The Unknown Club Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist White Water ft. Melinda Gareh
Comments This is a nice tune that oddly enough grabs me by the balls. Not sure why as it doesn't do anything overly special, but it is very well put together. Nice purposeful beat and even the vocals work, although they are a bit on the cheese side. Nice build up to the main anthem, very typical club sound. The main bits sound good and bounce along and will get then toes going. A very good club tune, but nothing else.

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Tranquility Base
Comments This is the third outing for Tranquility Base and perhaps the best. Two good mixes, both different enough to play out at the same time and get away with. Got some nice touches in the sort of scratch beat and the subtle piano in places is a welcome touch. NIce and funky, moves well and the main anthem is nice and long. The gaps are OK as well, as far as gaps go. A good tune and worth picking up.
Label Anjunabeats : Released April 2005

Title Free Yourself Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Arenok
Comments Nice and mellow this. If you want a hard club tune, then look elsewhere as this is for them moments when you need to chill out and calm down. Nice soothing noises and steady beat, plus some very mellow vocals. Very much on the progressive side and very much on the chilled side. The vocals are very well placed and the main theme throughout rolls very nicely over the ears. This isn't everyone's cup of tea, but for me it works well and breaks up all the usual harder stuff.
Label Electronic Elements : Released April 2005

Title Pacific Memory Albert Vorne vs. Savietto Remix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Red Flag
Comments This almost sounds Russian and gets down to a good beat very quickly. There are some weird spaced out sounds in places and the trance sound does change around quite a bit, depending on where you are in the tune. It then stops and the feel of the tune changes to that of a moody one and you then have a teasing pause. It then goes back to the beginning with a hard sounding trance feel. Bit on the samey side and it doesn't really do much for me in the way of spine tingling.
Label Captivating Sounds : Released April 2005

Title Research in my Heart Parrini & I.M. Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Bimas Jr
Comments It's a shame this is so short as I like it. Gets off to a real flier in it's build up with some weird sort of vocals thrown in for good measure. It does have a pause which is really annoying for a track so short in length. The main theme is a really euphoric one and the ?get down? hissed in places sounds really good. Very much an epic tune this, but it's so bloody short.
Label Gas Europe : Released April 2005

Title Amethyst Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Yanave
Comments A very epic and dramatic tune this. Got a real pumping feeling to it, although there isn't really any main theme to this. It just starts and keeps going at full pace, with the tone / tempo changing on occasion just to keep you interested. It could probably do with 'something? just to lift it up above the rest; but as it stands this is a worthy addition to any collection.
Label Deepblue Records : Released April 2005

Title Halo DJ Danjo & Rob Styles Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

4/5
Artist Arizona vs. Passiva
Comments I felt this was a strange mix of artists as Arizona I would say are more progressive where as the rest are much more on the club trance side. So, when you get to the main anthem you get a fantastic blend of the two. Trust me this is a serious head nodding tune that just sounds so good. The combination works really well with a nice progressive feel, but a nice hard trance element. Very euphoric and very epic, this is what you want to hear in the club at peak time. The big let down is that being a long tune there is only one go at the anthem, otherwise this would be near perfect.
Label Dedicated Holland : Released April 2005

Title Obsidian Original Mix

5/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Yanave
Comments I like the feel to this as from the off it has a subtle tribal sound about it, which is nice. Very much on the progressive side this builds up nicely with a quite hard sounding beat and some spaced out jungle noises (only way I can describe them). The tune then takes a slight turn with the intro of a really nice synth which raises the tempo and adds a nice club feel. This basically keeps going and is continually built upon, which is quite rare these days. There is the obligatory pause, but this keeps moving and then a whole new noise is brought in, which just works so well. This is a fairly mellow number, but with all the changes that go on and different sounds and feel; this is a real must.
Label Deepblue Records : Released April 2005

Title Alone Inertia Remix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Thomas Datt
Comments My word, this is a happy tune. Just the whole ensemble oozes smiley happy feelings, which is an amazing thing to be able to do in a tune. It's a shame that this tune doesn't fully use this and lift itself right up there. It is a nice melodic number, but after a while you do feel like it's plodding along a bit, which is a shame. It doesn't really get going and has too many slow down moments, which do sort of kill the mood. For the most, it sounds like the last few minutes of the tune rather than the beginning. A shame, real potential wasted.
