Title Pascale Robert Gitelmann Mix

Comments Quality production form a quality artist and remixer. This is a 110% uplifting trance tune that just smacks you in the face and yells? dance?. This is just a good tune that oozes quality and thought on the production tem side. The tempo changes pace and there are different noises thrown in all over the shop for good measure. It just lacks the webbing in between the main anthems otherwise this would be a true stunner.

Artist Johnson & Corbett
Comments Straight down to business this one, no messing around. Solid beat from the off and a nice mixture of synths very early on that create a nice atmospheric feel. There is a nice build up with some haunting vocals that just give it that little edge and then the main theme lays down a really hard trance sound. This is very epic and very much a peak time club tune as it just has that good feeling to it. The downside as with many tunes is that it just doesn't give enough of the good stuff. A real shame as this has masses of potential.

Comments You would be mistaken for thinking this would be a nice calm tune, as it isn't. Not a real beat pounder, but a good steady one nonetheless. Has a real uplifting feel to this in places with a real sweeping synth that makes the old neck tingle. It's this that the track builds upon in a nice progressive way, which works for me. This eventually turns into a solid tune with a different sound to it, almost junkyard. This is continually worked upon with new noises and tempos being added, which you would think would get too much; but it doesn't. This is an all round top tune that only suffers from a tad of slow down in the middle, apart from that a must have.

Comments Somatic Sense deliver another knock out tune which just punches you in the face and says 'more ??. Slow build up, but when this horse bolts it really does bolt. This is true epic trance on a grand scale. Even the in between bits sound good, a change in tempo and that's all I want. That said, the start is a bit a strained and there are places in the tune where it sounds like it's going to end. Don't let that detract you from the tune itself, pure dynamite; just a bit lacking in places.

Title Deep Calls to Deep Original Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Waves of Living Water
Comments Out on the new Joof Deep label and this has a real moody vibe to it. Has some weird talking going on and then the beat is almost eerie in that it has that feel, which is subsequently repeated all the time. I'm not really too sure about this. It has a good feel to it, but it is very repetitive; although I like the vocals in places. This is deep progressive house, hence the label and I would suggest a listen first to be on the safe side.

Comments You can generally always trust Afterglow to produce the goods and here you have 3 very good mixes of a very good tune. Nice happy feel to this and the shrill sound in the background works really well. This is very much one I'd like to hear on a nice hot beach. I especially like the way it sounds like its going to slow down and it just kicks the beat straight back in and lays down another chorus. It's a tad disappointing that there isn't more of the main theme at the end, but that's quite a small hole to pick.

Title Syncope Original Mix

Artist Tom Porcell
Comments The flip side to ?Final Cut?, what a piece of vinyl this is. Straight from the off you are treated to a quality bit of music. Bit short and sweet, but a nice taster at the beginning. The pause is a bit irritating as it's too early on, but the tune lets rip with a vengeance afterwards. The tune moves really well and the synth work is quite cool in that it makes the tune feel important. Bit short and there's only one real stab at it, which is where this falls short. As a double sided tune goes, buy this.

Title Shivers Elevation Remix

3/5 : Good
Artist Armin van Buuren
Comments You can always trust Armin to produce a nice tune, one that just flows well and is almost soothing. In my ears, this is just a vocal of another Armin track, Birth of an Angel. This is worthy of separate inclusion as it is almost a different tune in that it has been produced in such a way that it does sound very different. A long tune, but then again Elevation are a more progressive outfit. Nice twangy feel to it with an equally cool undertone of piano. The vocals are a bit over the top as I'm not a huge fan of them just being repeated, but this stands up well enough.

Title 2 Day Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Ronski Speed
Comments Taken from the E.P. of the same title, this just shades being the pick of the crop. Very typical Ronski tunes, powerful and with purpose. The main tune in this one flows really well and has a good solid drum beat behind it and nice alternating synths as the tune progresses. There's also a nice breakbeat between themes as well which in turn is broken up by some cool reverb work and haunting vocals. It's a shame that the tune does end rather abruptly and there's only one bite at the main tune, otherwise as this tune goes, and the E.P.; you can't go too wrong.

Comments Hhhmm, this has the right sort of club feel to it. A fast pacey beat with a catchy synth over the top. Works well and has a good euphoric feel, plus the synths work very well in bringing the edge out and giving it that little bit more. This in turn is broken up by a really cool breakbeat that sounds really wacky which in turn leads back into the main them. Can't moan too much about this, it sounds really good and is definitely worth having a listen to.

Title The Other Side Martin Roth Remix

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Paul Van Dyk feat. Wayne Jackson
Comments Forget all the mixes and head straight to the Martin Roth one. This HAS to be played loud otherwise you just won't get it. Full of pace and feeling and the vocals fading in and out work very well. Bit hard for PvD, but I'm not complaining. This is a really solid club tune that just oozes quality. The other mixes as I've said are crap, so do bear with it until this one; you will not be disappointed.

Title Days Like These Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Electrovoya
Comments I really like this mob and look forward to new tunes from them. The flip side to this, Ico, is an OK tune; but this just edges it. A nice bouncy house number with some really nice synth work, very dramatic and with a lot of feeling. Sounds good and the whole thing is well produced. There's not really a huge change throughout, you get the nice sound and it keeps going. There's only one real tune, which is where this falls short; but check it out.
Label Fundamental Recordings : Released June 2005

Title Silent Waves Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Jonas Steur
Comments Tribal feel to this one, which is always welcome. Very happy record this, using the tried and tested simple synth method. Simple beat in this one as well, but the synth makes it. Changes pace a few times when you?re not expecting it and it sounds really good. Quite a refreshing sound, nit the usual hard and fast stuff. Bounces well this and has that underlying tribal feel to it. It's a shame there's only one theme as two would have made this stand out from the rest. Worth a listen, the ?B? side ?Castamara? isn't bad either.
Label Intuition Recordings : Released June 2005

Title Futuristic Laptop DJ Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Shane 54
Comments This fella does produce the strangest stuff; he can't be accused of being samey. This has a real frantic beat to it, right from the off. You wouldn't be mistaken for knowing this was Shane 54 as it has that weird French feel to it, although the artist is Hungarian. This tune does take an age to get going and is very stop start in doing so. The main chorus has a nice angelic background, which I like; but it has just dragged a bit too much for my liking. A shame, usually good stuff from this guy; but not everyone will feel how I do.
Label White Label : Released June 2005

Title Release Me Original Mix

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

3/5 : Good
Artist Activa
Comments I originally bought this for the Danjo & Styles mix, but have since gone for the Original as it's a tad more funky. This has a fairly quiet start with a very basic piano break that leads into the main action. The main theme is a nice thumping melody. Good trance feel to it with a nice underlying synth, plus the piano. It's not a real stunner tune, but one that sounds good when it's played loud and a welcome tune in the clubs.
