Fred Baker Remix 3/5 : Good
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Active Sight | |
| Comments | Good to start this one, with a nice funky beat. Has the classic trance feel throughout, that euphoric sort of trumpet sound, dated yes; but still good. Doesn't have a really hard anthem as such, the tune gets harder as it progresses. There's a nice crescendo of sound in the middle, with a really cool undertone of synth. This tune could do with being longer as I feel it would really bring out the feeling in this. That aside, a nice tune and worth adding to your collection. | |

| Comments | This is a nice unusual sound. Verges on techno in places, but then gets pulled back onto the straight and narrow. The synths are quite heavy and not overly to my liking. There's a nice piano break in places that sort of tones the tune down. The melody is real sweet, moves well and actually brings everything together really well. Refreshing. | |

Original Mix 2/5 : Not Bad
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Signalrunners | |
| Comments | This is painfully slow to get going; in fact it's painfully slow to do anything. Much more of a chill out tune due to the rather lethargic sound. Reminds me a lot of DJ Shah to be honest. On the positive, it's relaxing and most certainly not a club tune. Sun, sand and beer; then this will go down well. It's a shame because after about 7 mins a nice synth pops up and adds a nice dimension to the track, but it's just too late in the song. Mix out the first 4 mins and the rest is worth it. | |

Original Mix 4/5

| Artist | Van Gelder | |
| Comments | This has such a positive start, nice and bouncy; but then it stops. Don't panic as it then starts to build up to a very nice melodic rhythm. Two bites at the cherry as well, which is always a great thing. Good beat with a nice simple synth moving it along. Good vibe and feeling and has that sound about it that thought has gone into the tune. I like this one. | |

Original Mix 3/5 : Good
|

| Artist | Romi | |
| Comments | A nice fresh sound to this. In fact the E.P. in general is a good all rounder. Good vibe and sound a nice simple melody in the middle. Shame there is only one and that the tune in general is so short. Longer would have been much better, but still a good tune as it is. Not earth shattering, but something pleasant on the ears; which can't be bad. | |

DJ Givernor Remix 2/5 : Not Bad
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Digital Nature | |
| Comments | I liked this first time round, but then found it a tad samey. Good solid beat, but it's not backed up by anything really meaty within. There are some nice synths, but all sounds a bit moog for my liking. Plods rather than rolls, if you get my drift. It's OK and there are some nice touches and I did used to think this was a good tune, I suppose the more you listen the more you hear. | |

Miikka Leinonen Remix 4/5
|
|---|---|---|
| Artist | Vast Vision | |
| Comments | Vast Vision at their best. It's been a while as I've found recent outings have all been a bit samey, but the melody in this packs a real nice punch. Euphoric trance at the top of it's game, one that I constantly am playing too loud in the car; so all others can hear what a top tune it is. Nice rambling noise in the background which bounces this along and a nice happy vibe throughout. Not quite a stunner as there's only 1 melody, two would have been a pure killer; but this still kicks ass. | |

Original Mix 2/5 : Not Bad |

| Artist | Kerris | |
| Comments | When Kevin (the artist) asked me to review this, I did warn that I am not a hard trance boy. This is pure 160BPM hard trance, which just isn't my taste. That said, this is an OK tune. It is well produced and has lots of noise going on, just in the right balance. The beat as you would expect is quite furious and the drum rolls in and out just make this even more manic. The main anthems are very euphoric and have that urgent feel about it. There are some nice reprieves in places with a short piano break, so you can catch your breath. If this was slowed down by 25BPM I'd have another listen, as it stands it one for the hard trancers out there. Definitely one I see being played at the right sort of clubs. | |

Original Mix 2/5 : Not Bad |
|---|---|---|
| Artist | CAINAM pres. ANAMIC | |
| Comments | This starts out as a real hard sounding tune, but then out of the blue it stops for a piano break; which I really liked. This is then phased out for quite a harsh sounding trance feel; which I think is a bit old sounding. The beat and production are good as this does sound professional, but I think the main melody sounds a bit dated and nothing I haven't already heard. You do however have to keep listening as the tune does seem to soften and has a good feel to it. Needs a rework aimed at toning the synth down a bit. It's there at the end, just a bit heavy to start with. | |

| Comments | Good, solid professional sound this one. At times, the tune reminded me of and old 80's track that you'd expect to hear in 'The Warriors'; it just has that feel to it. For me, it works really well; all be it not intentional. The version I heard wasn't too long, but what was there has promise. Not a trance tune as such, more on the progressive house edge in my opinion. Good funky beat and nice simple synths, which I always feel make a nice tune. Need a longer version with perhaps and harder remix. | |

Josha Cunningham Remix 3/5 : Good |
|---|---|---|
| Artist | CJ Stone | |
| Comments | Not sure if this has been re-released as info is a tad sketchy. I suppose the remixer has had some success lately so time to cash in. That's fair enough as this is a good tune. Nice rambling sound throughout, plus what can only be described as whistling. Put these together and they compliment really well and have a fresh and happy sound. It's a tad shameful this is so short and there's only one real melody. I think if there'd have been two, or the only one was longer then this would have been a real cracker. Sorry, it's just plain old good. | |

| Artist | Kamil Polner | |
| Comments | This guy can't do much wrong in my ears, usually quality tracks and this is no exception. This is probably one of the cheesier tunes he's done, but it does the business. Lots of passion and feeling, all on top of a nice beat and a simple synth. It just keeps going and going, its one long anthem and that really is the art of trance. 11 mins long this one and you'd be hard pressed to think that. You will be toe taping your way through this, cheese ?n? all. Even the lull in the middle is quite sublime, no beat; but lot's of feeling. I can't fault this, it's a cracking E.P. and worth your money 100% even if just for this one track. | |

Main Mix 2/5 : Not Bad |

| Comments | Deep, real deep this one. Got a real plod along feel to this, with a deep bass line. You have to bear with it as it takes a while to get going. I say that, if you can call what it does getting going. Melodic and with atmosphere, just a bit on the dreary side in places. Not a peak time tune and to be honest not one for your typical club. Very much for the specialists out there, but have a listen anyway. | |
