Title Puma Original Mix

3/5 : Good

Artist Sunny Lax
Comments I almost missed this and would have been annoyed if I had. Good solid trancer from the Anjuna label, been a while since I've heard anything good from them. Good start, but takes a long time to throw the music at your ears. Once we get there, solid and progressive with lots of feeling and a great extra break in the middle for good measure. Yet again though let down by the slow start and only one anthem, otherwise this would have been real special.

Title Tears 3 Way Mix

2/5 : Not Bad

Artist Kuffdam & Plant feat. ATW
Comments Drags out this, could do with being a few minutes shorter. 5 minutes before this gets going and when it does, OK it sounds OK, but nothing really special. Needs a bit more funk outside of the good stuff as to be honest it just drags. I completely miss the point of the vocals as well, they bring nothing to the tune at all. A bit disappointing.

Title Blue Moon Brisky Remix

Artist Steffan Cambridge
Comments This is a real epic and pacey tune, not sure if it's the artist's doing or Brisky. Moves really well, solid beat with that club feel and sound to it. Nice intro into the chorus, with a nice bell noise along with some quite angelic vocals. These get higher and higher, matching the intensity of the beat and then bang we?re off. A quality trance tune and one that should be in your collection. This will be great in the clubs at peak times, the people will love it.

Title 4th Floor (Find Me) Original Mix

Artist Mystery Islands pres. KDE
Comments Hard and thumping beat with this one, starts very well and with purpose. You are only a few minutes in and you are treated to a really cool piano break, with beat to go with it. You get a moment to recoup and then you get that wave washing over of the typical Mystery Island sound. Pounding chorus with a great piano break in there, very euphoric and arms in the air stuff. Plus, there are two bashs at it, so what more could you want. This is a great tune that sounds brill when extra loud.

Title Enchanted Original Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Eelke Kleijn
Comments Basic to say the least, but this has a nice feel to it. Very dark, a bit on the moody side and very progressive; but then again that's the artist. Solid beat, very precise and to the point. I like the intro as it progresses of the strange acid noise and the synth, also very simple, moves well with the beat. Got a pause in the middle and then it all comes back. This is an OK tune and if you like it progressive I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Artist Pervading Call
Comments This was released under ?Pervading Call Two?, as it was their second release and what a release. This is a great tune. It starts like a very hard and meaningful trance number and it sounds great. The middle has one of the most atmospheric tunes you are likely to hear, it's quite brilliant. This in turn turns into a brilliant anthem of sound, euphoria at its absolute peak. Just listen to this tune and let it take you away from it all, it's sooo nice.

Title Reflections Original Mix

3/5 : Good

Artist Starlet
Comments This is quite a deceptive little tune. Starts quite powerfully then slows right down with a nice piano break, which is slowly built on with various synths and beats. Once you get through all that, it kicks off into a nice melodic number. The piano remains throughout, just some extra synth to push it along. I quite make up my mind if the blend is right, but it's very catchy. Nice intro, but not a long enough anthem in the middle.

Title Cantus Original Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist HKN
Comments First time I heard this, I loved it. I tracked it down and cooled on it, although it's still an OK tune. You know what first impressions can be like. This has a very solid beat and a very down tempo feel to it, very chilled. Lots of spacey noises and soothing sounds. That aside, very slow to get going and just doesn't do it for me as nothing really happens. If this had a pounding trance chorus then I'd be wanking myself silly, but it doesn't. A relaxed and chilled number, not really for the clubs.
Label Real Music Recordings : Released December 2005

Title Exhale Original Mix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Benz & MD
Comments Deep, dark and moody; but with a certain appeal. This is very progressive, so if you want a monster club tune; don't bother. I'm not sure why I like this, but once it's running it has a nice lift in it; quite nice. It moves along well, all be it on the slowish side; but it just sounds nice. In the morning in the car, I find this very relaxing and it's a good chill out on the way home. Not sure what sort of recommendation that is, but there you have it !
Label Lost Language (Promo) : Released December 2005

Title Chamberlain Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Airbase
Comments This is a freebie download from the Airbase homepage, so that can't be bad ! This is a real happy tune, with lots of passion behind it. Bit on the cheese side, but has a good beat and the chorus has an extra uumph behind it, which sounds good. As far as being a freebie, well; you can't go wrong. So get along to the link below and get yourself a copy. Remember to support the artist, which isn't difficult as it's Airbase; who's generally quality stuff.

Title Mesh Original Mix

3/5 : Good

Artist Aava
Comments Funky. I like the beat and I like the weird frog like noises in the background at the beginning. Nice use of a gentle piano type synth as well, just to ease you in. The pause bit comes a bit soon, but this is quite a mellow little bit. Nice plip plop noises, quite soothing really. To be honest, I thought this was Hydroid when I first heard it as it has that feel to it. Nice second anthem which encompasses everything you will have heard, all at once. It's not too over powering, just right.
Label Monster Pure : Released December 2005

Title Fireflies Jazper's Summer Mix

4/5 niiiccceeeee
Artist Vast Vision pres. The Partners in Crime
Comments Yeah, fresh techno feel to this. Nice synth, really lifts the feel of this. Stops and starts again almost a different tune, but still with that nice crisp feel. This is what the good old days used to sound like. Tunes that have been thought out and lovingly compiled. There's a mad Turkish sound in the middle which is well wacky. An all round very good tune.
Label Real Music Recordings : Released December 2005

Title Playground Nu NRG Remix

2/5 : Not Bad
Artist Second Sun
Comments I had to listen to this version and the Original a few times before I started to like this. Lots of noise, most of it pretty good; but not a huge amount of direction in places. It's towards the end that it all slows down and you get some vocals. It sounds OK, but it really does slow the whole thing down quite drastically. The tune just doesn't recover from this, which is a real shame. Potential, just not delivered.
Label Vandit Records : Released December 2005

Title Greek Trick Original Mix

3/5 : Good
Artist Hydroid
Comments I originally got this for the Perry O?Neil Remix, but ended up preferring the Original. Got a good feel to this, a rather different sound to the usual stuff out there. Not sure if I'd call it Greek, but a nice sound. Only one crack at the anthem, which as ever always lets a tune down. This is a typical Hydroid tune in that it has that cool Hydroid sound and feel to it. I think on this occasion they've tried to steer away, but been pulled right back in. I like this, it's original.
Label White Label : Released December 2005

Title Scorcher Miika Kuisma

2/5 : Not Bad

Artist Christopher Lawrence & Nicholas Bennison
Comments A typically deep progressive tune, with a touch of Miika. Very very progressive this, in fact I thought it was going to never happen. Quite an epic start with lots of feeling and sounds, but no real substance. Just keeps throwing the same old noise at you with no real change in tempo or rhythm. Some nice moody noises in the background and an overall well produced tune, just not my cup of tea.
